Crusader Arms Crypto

Alright received my Crypto and here are my thoughts:

Fired 250 rounds through the rifle at a range of 100 meters. Magazines are okay definitely not amazing but also not horrible. They get the job done and feed rounds reliably. Out of the 6 I got 1 has an issue. After the last round is fired the bolt does not lock back on that one magazine. The rest of the magazines lock the bolt back after the last round is fired. I suspect this is because the follower is plastic and there are some tolerance issues when some of the magazines are made at the factory.

I had zero malfunctions with 50 of my own 55 grain reloads. I also had zero malfunctions with 200 rounds of 55 grain 5.56.

I achieved 2 inch groups at 100 meters with my hand loads and 3 inch groups with 5.56. Fantastic accuracy and this barrel is made by crusader so I was shocked.

Disassembling the bolt carrier I cannot find any issues with quality or fitment of the gas rings, extractor or ejector. The rifle does not rattle when put together and the dust cover functions properly. Of course if you don’t like something feel free to swap it out. That’s what is great about the rifle. I would disagree if someone said that the bolt assembly is absolute crap. Definitely not bottom of the barrel in the slightest.

Overall this is a good rifle. Feel free to disagree if you want but this is just my personal experience. The best 5.56 I have owned except I do miss not being able to use stanag mags : (

It is a customers private video, but I can assure you we get calls/emails/videos daily now of these guns being a total POS QC wise
They’re calling you daily but not posting on here? …. Weird.

I would have thought this rifle was fairly unknown except amongst CGN’ers and maybe some other select forums.

Are these at major retailers like Cabelas?

You gotta remember that MOST gun owners are not "gun people" and not on online forums. 9/10 gun owners are this way.

They are contacting us wanting a replacement/help getting in contact with Crusader Arms as they have NO contact info on their webpage, funny eh?

They put the cheapest wish.com parts in these rifles...and assembled them with little care or know how.

And no we are not Cabela's.

I'm a Crypto owner and mine runs great.

What parts do you think need replacing to make a this a more robust rifle?

I mean, I've got all sorts of Colt Canada sitting around gathering dust, so why not swap somethings in.

How many rounds are we seeing being run through these before issues arise? What kinds of issues exactly? This info needs to be made known, if this gun is a absolute POS. Preferably with proof

Between this thread and the ones on reddit, I'm almost wondering if the guns sent to retailers and the guns sold direct are assembled by different people/teams or whatever. Maybe the QC is even different for some reason. Guys who purchased a whole rifle - you buy it from Cru or a retailer?

Bought mine at g4c and it works perfect so far.

What reddit threads are you referring to? I don't see anything where I'm subscribed to.

The 3x we have coming back have not been fired as they wouldn't be able to even fire...locked bolt into reciever, bent (in 2 spots) gast tube and one with a broken trigger and a gas block knocked outta place.

Looking at picking up a receiver set. How long did it take to receive it? They say 2-4 weeks. I'm hoping they honor that timeframe. Glad to see something like this on the market. I wasn't keen on buying an ATRS set on the secondary for $3500+. Perhaps ATRS can build a new model with a proprietary magwell design similar to this? That would be splendid.

I ordered early September and still have not received it. I figure another week or two for them to begin shipping again

I got mine from a retailer not directly from crusader arms. Once again the parts used for the trigger, bolt and bolt carrier are completely fine. This whole thing of them being crap is ridiculous.

For instance if the liberal government banned this gun but let us owners keep them I would feel bad for all of you that don’t have one. Feels just like an AR even more so than a Raven. But you do you I guess haha whatever makes you guys happy

Bolt bent in two spots? or receiver bent in two spots?

That's so strange...

I can guarantee you that it’s the aluminum receiver that bent not the bolt body. Someone post pics now I’m curious. Also what I am more interested in is how crusader arms takes care of this for these customers.
