If the barrel nut, barrel, and handguard are all standard, I wonder if Crusader would be willing to sell builder's kits to allow re-homing of parts from safe queen rifles or for a builder to make a new rifle in a custom calibre like 6 MM ARC, Grendel, or 7.62x39 mm? To confirm for a Comp set, a donor rifle could provide the barrel, gas tube, handguard, bolt, pistol grip, trigger and firing pin, while the kit would have to come with upper and lower receivers, trigger assembly area, bolt carrier / tail assembly, magazines and stock? An adjustable gas block may be needed to get the cycling right, since their is no buffer spring or weights to adjust. Would a builder's kits be useful?

Honestly surprised they havent offered a build kit option yet (Comp model specifically, I'm sure everyone would prefer an AR trigger over Turknelli mystery meat) I mean I'd buy one if it meant I could build the rifle I want without having spare, annoying to sell take-off parts lying around if you buy a rifle whole and change parts to your preference, right? Like they got around to selling Crypto builder kits, the demand is definitely there I'd say
 
If I decide to get one of these it will prob be green one as well
I used to have a bcl 102 that was green and I really liked it
It’s nice to see different colors available on these other then black
 
I’m so tempted to get one. Doesn’t look like Makasi is coming anytime soon and I’m not on a preorder so may not be for a while yet.

Going to see them at Taccom and decide. Hopefully will have some show specials.

I would buy at least one builder kit, possible more. I've got a stack of AR15's that could be cannibalized.

I would omit the magazines from any kit as they could be bought separately if the builder wants them or plans to use mags he already has.

For consistency, the kit has to come with the propietary mags, since the Backland series is a post C21 design. What someone does post-purchase is up to them.

I contacted Crusader Arms directly last week and inquired if they had any plans to release a builders kit.
At this time they do not plan to and gave me a breakdown of the cost of the propriety parts if you wanted to build your own, which would be basically the cost of buying a complete rifle.

The response I got back from Crusader Arms:
Unfortunately we don't have that option at this time as we are currently trying to keep up with the ever increasing sales demand, we are honestly slammed with orders.

Also please note that rifle also requires a proprietary BCG, buffer and spring, therefore the concept of the kit you are looking for would need the following:

UPPER - $499
LOWER- $499
AR Trigger, Safety, Grip Adapter - $499
Buffer, Tube, Spring - $99
Proprietary BCG - $349

Oh by no means do I think an FRT will keep anything safe. The Liberals are out to get everything eventually. Only thing is, there’s a (probably small) chance that the SCC overturns the OICs, but if this goes the way of the Crypto it’s gone for good.
