In light of the Crusader Crypto now out in the hands of many, along with how quick it has become many peoples new go to range toy, I figured we could start a thread / collective sharing details of our personal builds. Help others with feedbadk of our own experiences thru and with our own personal builds. Cost's and retailers for reference along with our experience with said parts. Hiccups, and what to watch out for. Hopefully a go to thread for the rifle eventually.

From the stock parts what are the best parts to upgrade first- what makes the biggest difference for reliability/durability
BCG, charging handle, barrel, buffer system, trigger, safety selector, and everythign else is just cosmetic... perhaps a nice dust cover, buttstock, pistol grip and handguard will just be preference....

Stock from the manufacturer, any change you do has an effect on the overall performance and durability, plus any screw up during installation makes all your monies spend worthless.

is there any information on what parts are used and the quality of them
Yes, milspec, thats why is better to go with the receivers, that way, you know you put in it, if you dont really care about reputable brands, its all gonna be pretty milspec, and thats as far as it gets

As long as you put the pieces nicely together and most importantly, KEEP it, then you will do fine. Many people do expensive builds and then never shoot them and eventually sell them at a loss.

Personally I like to try many different rifles and sell the ones I don't use anymore with no or little loss.

If you want a reliable rifle which shoots excellent, maintenance and reloading is the way to go.

Plus actually learning how to shoot.

That's quite the set up! I hope to see people out at my range with some of these rifles too. Don't see many in the Regina area

I have read a few reports of ejection port covers popping open easily, my milspec EPC did too. A drop from about an inch would pop it open or even tapping it somewhat lightly on its side. I used a round jewlers file and just touched the inside of the receiver where the epc detent clicks in. It doesnt pop open now with drops or hard bumps on the side.

Just got mine today! Quick and dirty with some stuff I had laying around, can't tell if I got a purple one or not, looks black or purple depending on the lighting. This was BNIB second hand but from bullseye originally, bit of wobble between the upper and lower (I remember seeing somewhere it's rock solid zero play) so that's what I was expecting, range time tomorrow20241024_204046.jpg
