Hey there CGN

I'm the ?proud? Owner of a VZ 61, in 22lr

Every range session so far, I'm lucky to get through one mag of 20rds without a stoppage of some sort.
I've tried high velocity, standard, round nose, truncated cone, HP, plated and lead..
CCI- stinger and mini mags
Winchester- 333 , and m22
SK match
Federal 525

Ran it wet , breakfree and remoil, with grease: rig , and with Anschutz: ceramic...

Besides the mags being a b$&@h to load, I'm getting light strikes, stove pipes , the odd round even falling back into the receiver and then preventing the bolt from going forward.

I've heard some guys say wildcat works well. I've never run that in any Rimfire before.
I guess blazer might be worth a shot ...

I suppose I'm just venting here.

Would love to hear from any other owners out there and see if this is common?
Is it just that I haven't found the right ammo yet?

It gets a complete tear down and cleaning after every session .

While these are finicky my seems to run tops with Remington bucket of bullets (I guess they are golden bullets) which run at 1400 fps.

Everything else for me was ass

Plus it will probably need a good break in period

Thanks Bfiles

I think I've got a few milk cartons of old golden bullets. I'll give that a go next trip out.

It's kinda tough to get a good break in when I can barely get 15 rds down range without a stoppage.
I started it off with stingers to give it a good snap.

I might have to upgrade to the xl charging handles , seeing how I have to rack it so damn often.

Also I left the mags loaded for awhile and that seems to have made it easier to load now.

My biggest problem is empty cases in the works but if it helps, for loading mags I have a piece of 1/8 steel welding rod with a gentle curve in it and a loop at the top, also waiting on a response from a company in the USA about a loader but it's been weeks and the rod works great lol. I would post pics but that is just too painful lately.

I'll have to see what I can rig up to make it a little easier .
Thanks for the tip
