evolture, what it looks like straight out of the box.

If the rifle is to you some beater like an SKS, then yeah - I see no point.

It was more a rifle for the wife, she thinks everything else is too heavy, and something for me to tinker with.

I'll probably make it look like a little SVD, I have some cherry laying about that will make a nice skeleton stock.

I have yet to decide if it will get the B&T 7.62 magwell conversion. I'd also like to hang a bipod off the reciever, SVD style, but haven't really figured out if the enough meat in front of the magwell.

That's a bit of a piss off. Just bought one today, and specifically asked whether it had a chrome lined barrel or not, and the answer was a definite yes.

Won't be shopping there again.

really you're surprised? A gun store sales person just wanting your money and getting you out the door?

Lucky guy! Looks good.

I would like to get one of those buttstocks (complete furniture, actually, but I know where to find the grip and forend). Any suggestions?

Call Wolverine to see what they have in their back room. I know that their website lists a few stocks, plastic skeleton was one, but don't remember the rest.

Wolverine also sells the matching side mounting place for the CSA VZ. I didn't know but the left is of the reciever has 2 holes predrilled and threaded for a side mounting plate, the one at Wolverine.

You could also look at Ironwood Designs: w ww.ironwooddesigns.com/VZ58_Czech.html

They make some nice stuff and it wouldn't be difficult or take much skill to stain a light hardwood Black, give the wood the old school combloc spec-ops look.
