I’m curious about this, but cannot find any personal evaluation of the product. Has anybody tried this on their 10/22?

I have the CST LSBHO kit, match bolt and Grand Master trigger installed in a custom Volquartsen SS receiver with Kidd barrel.

It works reasonably well, but occasionally doesn't hold the bolt open on the last round. Occasional reliability issues aside, the match bolt and trigger work good in the package and rival so of my high-end rimfires in terms of accuracy. You also don't need to use proprietary magazines.

Thanks for the responses, gentlemen.

It sounds like the reliability issue is definitely something to consider. I have a few questions about this. But ultimately, the answer to this one will determine if I might move forward on this.

Is the reliability of the rifle affected overall? Or is it the reliability of the last shot hold open “feature” only?

My issue with reliability was with the LSBHO feature and not anything to do with functioning of rifle in terms of accuracy, FTF o FTE. The CST bolt stop lever doesn't rely on proprietary magazines to lock the bolt back on the last round but rather the lever hooks onto a milled cutout on the bolt which requires some modifications to get everything aligned and functioning properly. Even then, it is hit and miss as to whether you'll get good reliability with the LSBHO.

Not to dissuade you but if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone in a different direction and not gone with a Ruger platform at all. My T/C R-55s are just better overall rifles and have a properly functioning LSBHO. With the RCMP effectively neutering all hi-cap Ruger magazines, I don't see any point in wanting a Ruger. The T/CR-22 looks to be a much better choice if you want to stick with the Ruger ecosystem.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I’ll look into the T/CR-22 if I’m looking for another 10/22.

It is for my Takedown though and it’s really more for keeping consistent with the manual of arms of the rest of my guns. I’ll have to consider it a bit.

It sounds like it might be a performance improvement anyway. Is that true?
