Cull Buck Down

should point out that baiting deer for any purpose is highly illegal in Manitoba, so way to be a poacher umchorn

Really? Because that makes all this just that much funnier!

Not allowed bait here in BC, not allowed it in Alberta either, but 15 KM away from where I normally hunted, it was Saskatchewan, and if you dumped a truck load of grain out, eventually you'd get a decent buck come in in daylight!

But if bait piles are not allowed in Manitoba (one of the Provinces I have NOT had residency in), I would be willing to bet that the bait pile that resulted in all those "Management" pictures, was illegal as all hells! LOL!

Now, that makes it even FUNNIER that he shot a half grown buck, with not much meat on him, and called it a "Cull" LOL!

And yeah, as above. If the hunters don't eat them, the crows or worms do! When the biologists say there are too many does around, the fools that buy doe tags to stop them from being shot, are just stopping them from being eaten by people!

How much should we put in a betting pool that Umchorn2 is related to this goof?! (Stan Potts). Stan is w/o a doubt the biggest goofball I have ever seen hosting a deer hunting show and something tells me him and Umchorn2 are related...

Another dumb dumb talking smack? Get your facts straight. The deer was shot on my land in Saskatchewan. I don’t even hunt my Manitoba parcel. No way I’m paying 5 times the price to shoot my own deer!

You should learn how to hunt so you don't need to use bait.
You could also improve your tiny property by growing a baby tree farm in the middle of the bush.

In the interest of clarity, in most of BC it is legal to bait everything except bears. I believe only Region 4 has a ban on baiting deer due to cwd concerns, and that is a recent change.

One thing I do find somewhat interesting, is that there is an awful lot of cape there for a “cull buck” with “$200 of dog chews and knife handles” in his rack. Especially when considering he was done ala gutless method “using his hide and a tarp to keep the processing area clean”. Having done a few dozen critters gutless, it would be fair difficult to accomplish that with a deer on the ground that was tube skinned.

Kind of looks more like “Thats the biggest buck I’ve ever shot and he’s going on the wall, but that doesn’t really fit with my online portrayal of myself”….

Lol... astute observation!

Haha good observation! Bang on i think.

About 10 years ago I ran across two guys with a small 4 point muley on the side of the FSR, the buck had 3 points up front and one on the back, making him a legal buck.

He was a young buck and they were telling me they shot him to get him out of the gene pool, I thought it was an interesting reason for shooting a small buck on the side of the road.

in nova scotia we are allowed to shoot does as the pop is out of control and the road hits are very bad and plenty, I have been lucky not to hit any but have had lots of close calls when going to work at night. I have let bucks go as I do not like the taste of the meat, too strong for me. I did get my doe last week about 100 lbs deer and the meat is very good. I can only see the problem getting worse in southern nova scotia as they are not shooting enough does to control the pop.

Good eye. The truth is in the details.

No, you have to understand that he is pumping the idea that he can somehow "manage" a group of deer that he does not actually have any control over.

It's even funnier when he professes to be too cheap to buy a Manitoba tag so as to be able to harvest "His" deer there!

Hard to "manage" a herd, when you cannot afford to shoot any!

Broken brow tines; esp spindly ones are usually from rubbing not fighting. Deer have scent glands in their forehead and tear ducts that they seek to mark their rubbing trees with as they grind the base and burrs into the bark. Small brows or closely spaced ones can get snapped off like match sticks with a simple head twist. The OPs own pictures show the rubbing area, its still wearing the bark.

Another fun antler fact is that if net scores mean a lot to you, 4x5s aren’t going to help the cause either.

Took me 19 days to kill this cull buck. Scrawny, 5 year old, 4x5 nine point. Didn’t need his weak genes being passed on to my herd. Luckily I was fast on the draw and killed him just as he was about to breed a doe.
