Got another chance to go out on saturday, but no luck that day as its been a little windy around here lately.
Monday the wind was a little better but not by much so we attempted to give er another go. First set was a bust. Lots of fresh tracks but couldnt find anything making them. For the second set we decided to move down the valley a km or two to a farm that we were at on saturday. The farmer put out one of his dead cows not to long ago so we thought we would check it out again.
Walking towards the bush that kind of hid the dead cow we see a coyote pop out of a little look see. We were only about 350 out at that point. We froze and glassed while the yote did its lil look around and went back for another bite or two. Got lucky there. So we decided to sneak up a bit more and give a lil howl to bring it out for a shot. I wasnt a 100% sure on the howl, but I was wrong.
This coyote starts trotting up the fence line looking for a fight. At first I didnt see it coming up the fence line. lol At about the 100 yrd mark it stops and I wasnt sure if my partner was going to shoot or not, so I unloaded a lil 53gr sleepin pill for it. Feel right in its tracks with no twitchin or nothing. Really liking these 53gr Vmaxes so far.
She was a pretty lil one.
Now just have to find her mate.
Heres me draggin her out.
I was thinking of cutting up a small chunk from one of my tarps to lay them on. Thinking it might slide abit better. How do you guys get your dogs out?
