All of my M-70's are quite a bit older than new (some a lot older) but of the new ones I've looked at, they seem to be well enough finished. I've had lots of M-70's over the years and the only one I ever had trouble with was one of the first "classic" that came out in the late eighties or early nineties, they had some QC issues in those days but cleaned up their act after a while. I wouldn't be afraid of an M-70, it's an old school action and they work!
