Custom .22 Benchrest build

AGREED

if you do not understand the barrel indexing thing, go back to bed mr gunsmith

barrel indexing on a rail gun finds the sweetspot in the barrel for vibration or harmonics

if the PRX (sp) formula still thought to be good for tuners,

so much to learn as opposed to going up half a grain in powder and jamming in the lands,

we have not got started on stock vibration and bedding angles yet

Jerry where are you for this discussion, still selling pre fit savage barrels and discontinued bullets,

Jerry is a good guy but to have fans say they like his advice is also OK but not on topic, RIMFIRE RIMFIRE RIMFIRE

so much to learn even about leade angles,

LATER OFF TO THE CITY FOR rimfire PARTS SHHH DONT TELL

You may know what you are talking about, but you come off as an a$$hat. Give it a rest already.

Always more to learn but very happy with my first ever PRS match... PRS and Rimfire, a fantastic combo.

ARR-April 13, 19e.jpg

For those interested in PRS/PRL + Rimfire + Long range shooting + tons of fun and very low attitude, pm or email. Lots of new matches all across Canada

Anyone interested in CRPS/Action Rimfire rifle and want to do some training and practise in the OK valley, please pm or email.

Going to have alot of fun this summer testing and learning lots about ELR rimfire and what it takes to make this happen. The goal is 12" plate at 400m to 450m.... that is a very long ways.

Got barrels on order and using reamers speced by top US rimfire shooters (even got one 'donated' by one of these shooters which was really nice).

for those interested in pushing the limits of rimfire, give me a shout. If all goes to plan, there will be a chance at setting a world record under sanctioned match conditions in Oct.

Many of the top rimfire PRS shooters will be attending and we leave the "playground BS" at the gate....

Jerry

The origianal question was about rimfire benchrest so what does PRS have to do with it? Different game with different gear.

Correct, but apparently my skills in all other sports got thrown into this mix... so...

If a shooter doesn't feel a gunsmith can do the work they want, that's cool.... we all have our favorites. Give a recommendation on why you prefer so and so... That is great and the gunsmiths would appreciate the referral of business I am sure.

I just don't see the point of getting into mud slinging and personal attacks to try and validate ones point.

There is always 2 sides to every story and sometimes doing what you are asked to do, can be the wrong thing to do... oh well.

To the OP, good luck with your BR build... many itty bitty groups

'nuff said...

I would hazard a guess, that some people are sick of seeing you post a reply promoting yourself/smith EVERYTIME someone mentions they want to start a build. I know I'm tired of it.

No other dealer acts like this to the extent you do. Its almost a guarantee that if someone posts in any precision thread about a build your right there to promote yourself wether it suits the buyer or not.

So because he is active in the forums, and throws some advice in people want to slag him. He is obviously pretty knowledgeable and can typically pretty helpful. If you dont likr his advice ignore it, if it helps you great. To me it looks like the same handful of people giving the comments, i dont always agree with them but dont fly off the handle and criticize them. This is an internet forum that people will disagree on, you dont have to listen if you dont want.

I agree... no sense in arguing with someone dense as a fence post who would rather screw someone over than accept responsibility... people like that are of the same ilk as self promoters... always out for a buck.

If people gave helpful advise WITHOUT solicitation it would be better accepted. If the advise is contestable it will still be contested but is more palatable.

There is a reason a have Satellite radio in my truck and not regular. I want the music not the commercials every 5 mins. If your name says "Dealer", have 3 clickable links in your signature, plus your facebook I think people know you sell stuff.

Some us like what he has to say! He has helped many. And we know he is in business to make some cash. Does not take from his advice. The OP can check out his info and see if it is what he wants. Thanks to all who have pointed us to good info, it is interesting and enjoyed. A pissing match does little to help and, quite frankly, makes us look like a bunch of school kids. JMHO

Geez who pissed in your cornflakes. Jerry is one of the good guys plus he can back up his bravado with results. What I’m sick of seeing is the petty bickering amongst us so call gunnuters, btw aren’t we all on the same team?

Nobody has a problem with sharing experience... but these are the "discussion" forums and pandering for your personal business for the purpose of making money belongs in the "business" sections. No different than posting an EE ad in the discussion forums... and nobody supports that.
