I am under the distinct impression that Barnard (on my spellcheck it appears as barn yard) will indeed be allowing their actions and product to once again be imported into Canada shortly. One would hope that whomever is the lucky entity they would bring in V bedding blocks, bore guides, spigots, barrel wrenches (or wenches as the case may be), scope rails and so on. Hope Barnard is taking notice of these requests so the bare actions are not here and nothing else.

some guy names Sean is bringing in some stillers I think,

ARTS has a very nice bolt action in 308,

and a few guys building complete guns, so what is everone going to build in 2012,

just got a Robertson tac stock for a build if I can just get the barrelled action,

I am looking for a USED PGW coyote, thinking of a caliber for my BORDEN on a mac A-5, might get a new Barnard P for my shehane stock, and maybe one more, might as well fill up the safe before my operation in case I do not survive, or fill up on guns so I want to survive, as I know all of you want newly built bargains galore.

spring will be here shortly and you better get in line for your action, barrel and choose a stock, mmmm where have all the stocks gone,

so what is on your BUCKET LIST FOR 2012 to build or replace ?????????

Just awaiting my PGW Single Shot for the new .284 Shehane build. Barrel shuld be at the GS's now (Thanks to Sean at North Shore Barrels) and the stock will be made as well.

Barnard P and Broughton for me for this summer's F-TR rifle. I'm making the stock myself. Would love to build a nice tactical rifle this year though, budget willing.

For me:

Krieger on a trued 700 in an AICS with viper skins in .308

Broughton on a trued 700 in an mdt tac 21 with prs stock

Pierce with a broughton spiral fluted in an mcm a5 in desert camo, bbl and action in cerakote fde with a fte badger brake

Finishing what I started last year; trued Rem 700 action, Broughton 10 twist, Robertson TAC.

My other build (Barnard S, True flite, and Robertson RCI II) got canceled when Robertson closed up shop.

If you want to get an ultimate rifle , the PGW coyote would be one to get. You cant even compare it to anything out there, I have shot almost every rifle, from HS, accuracy international, Sako , and non of these rifle come close, don't even waste your money on custom.

I think I will send my Musgrave out to Paul Reiben at Range Sports Unlimited, and have it put into one of his stocks. That way it will have the same stock as my HHE Millennium rifle.

I'll be rebushing the firing pin hole and replacing the Sako with a Mini-M16 extractor on my 40X that I just rechambered into 6BR Lapua with a 5c Broughton for F-Open.
Next is a trued 788 that will be my hunting rifle with Shilen 13" twist Rachet rifling in 7.62x39. That's as custom as it gets for me. :)

Do you fine the M16 extractor work better or you mean the Sako extractor?

They both work well, but the M16 style extractor is a safer option in the Rem 700 type bolt. It's best to use the OEM extractor in a 700/40X, but it's what I do to retro fit Sako extractors that were already done. I still use the Sako in the Rem 788 type bolt. In that style bolt it's completely safe.

I experimented putting in an AR-15 extractor on a broken 700 bolt, but had to change the angle slightly to get the shell to eject to the right instead of up, hitting the scope turret. It works.

I have order several Sako extractor , was going to put in myself when it show up. I have heard of m16 extractor work better than Sako extractor.

Three builds for me on the go

22-250, possibly in an ackley improved (thoughts on brass stretch and mag feeding?), 1-7 twist krieger on a trued rem 700. Badger bottom metal, bell & carlson tactical stock, 3.5-15x56 NXS with NP-R1 reticle in a Near 20 MOA Alphahunter. It'll be for coyotes and plinking at distance, plan to shoot 90 SMK's or something along that line.

300WM, aics 2.0 green (viper skins maybe Sean??), 1-10 broughton 5C on a trued rem 700, 5.5-22x56mm NXS, NP-R1 on a 30 MOA Near rail and 25 MOA NEAR alphamount. Sinclair tactical bipod and I'll feed her 208 AMAX.

Rem 700 LTR 308, to be trued and have a 1-11 twist broughton 5C. aics 1.5 in green with a 3.5-15x56mm NXS, NP-R1. Sinclair bipod, accu-shot monopod on rear and feeding her 190 SMK's or 178 AMAX.

Also have a .338 LM inbound barrel that may have to wait till next year to get a custom action and build her up.

I would like to thank Hirsh Precision, North Shore Barrels, Mystic Precision and Alberta Tactical as CGN dealers for their excellent pricing and service. Props also must go out to Do-So enterprises for gunsmithing work and NEAR Manufacturing for absolutely top of it's class mounting solutions. It's going to be a great summer indeed.

Pretty big statement!! I have seen a PGW rifle shooting F/TR respectable but never in top of winners circle.
There is 4 customs guns with freinds that I shoot with, 40x Rem with Hart,Rem 700 with a Kreiger, A Savage with a Tru-Flite & Barnard with a Tru Flite all trued except the Barnard. All sing 12x by 42 Nightforces
I have seen them all shoot 1/4moa at 100,200 & 300 yards and smaller groups.

I am not even sure How much beer I drank Toyad. maybe a few to many !!

I stand by what I said, I haven't yet own PGW, but if you want something that can shoot, with good look, resale value, coyote or timberwolf is the one to get, also AI and Sako, I am sure there is other out there. If you want just accuracy, best bang for the buck, get a rem700 Or Mauser have it true.

Real man drink beer, the kids can have milk!

Hay little boy, go and have a few more glad of milk, why the hell would I want to touch you Bernard action, if I want get a rem700 and do it myself, because I know how, but you don't so a copy is the best you can have!

While I will not claim that PGW rifles are the be all and end all, maybe you should look out to the eastern and western regions of this expansive country, out past the parts of the Ontario map where the sea monsters and dragons normally reside.

PGW rifles have won numerous championships in Manitoba and at the PPRA annual meet at Nokomis, SK. Matt W. also campaigns in NB and at Connaught with a PGW ( or did last time I saw his gun) and holds his own, even wins a few ;)

Or is it your position that those results don't count because they did not happen in Ontario?

I never own a PGW yet, but never say never, I was at the range in Edmonton early last year, shooting a coyote 308 at 200 meter a group smaller than a dime, can call in a fluke or lucky shoot, but that a five round, not 3. I am convince of the rifle, very robust, tight , I am sure that action can handle what ever you throw at, and by the way ask any machinist of the fluting quality on that rifle, I know myself have did about dozen, not easy by any mean. Like I said: quality action, barrel, and workmanship.

A PGW should be able to shoot since they use Krieger barrels, but what makes the rifle any better than another custom action with a Krieger barrel? It seems odd to me that they are somehow more magically accurate.
