Custom coyote calls

I did a little peeking around the net and heard nothing but great things about Mr. Carver. Think I will order a big dog howler and a swift.

Do not forget, this is the busiest time of the year for the post office and the border. I am crossing my fingers that my calls do not get stuck at the border or lost by CP.

Thanks to you guys I just ordered two calls and Mr. Carver e-mailed me personally thanking me for my order and clarifying exactly what I want and said it will be shipped by tomorrow! That is what I call customer service especially with his looow prices! 40 dollars for two calls shipped to my door from the US!

I will add to your great service comment. I spoke with him today regarding his calls, and he was not only more than happy to take the time to help me, he told me to call him after I received the calls and had time to practice a bit with them and he would help me call with them properly. As a new coyote hunter and caller, this kind of service is TOPS +++

He seemed like a real nice down to earth guy, great to talk to, and when I mentioned the CGN site to him he took note of it, and it would not surprise me if he checks us out. He had wondered why all of a sudden he was getting quite a few Canadian orders this past week, so hats off to you Cam for starting this thread, he was very happy to hear about everyone's good comments on his calls.

I was thinking to myself the other day that he must be thinking it strange to be getting a bunch of orders from Canada all of a sudden.

I thought this thread was about posting pics of custom calls!! ;)

Here's a few of mine anyway, I have one more but can't find it tonight.

Open reed call and closed reed squeaker. The squeaker sounds amazing and is very easy to use. I need more practise with the open reed, I've been too lazy using the foxpro last year.

This is the kind of thing I would love to make! Why not? I already make hunting knives. I need some measurements, source the reeds from a music store perhaps.

Call builder's supplies are available on the net and for cheap too. A google search will help you in finding suppliers such as this one.

According to Ontario's post(post#13) he purchased his reeds from Kerry Carver. Since he is a pro caller, I am guessing its safe to say he would have good reeds.

Really, I think there is at least half a dozen of us who said we had ordered all during the same week lol

How do you like your cow horn howler? How hard is it to master and produce realitic howls? I'm thinking about getting one.

I'm taking it wolf hunting tomorrow. I'll post back letting you guys know if it works. The reed is a lot thicker than a coyote call making it a little weird t blpw, but I have the hang of it now.

I never expected this thread to lead to a whole bunch of orders, just letting cgn know about really good calls at a low price, from a great guy.

I'm to lazy to scroll back, when were yours mailed out?? Mine were mailed on the 7th, and usually I have bad luck with packages so I am crossing my fingers. Usually if a bunch of people say their package made it through no problem, mine would be the one stopped at customs.

Same day as cam1936. Dates are eluding me and I am on my crackberry. LOL
