Custom coyote calls

I'll make you feel better, I have two of his calls and planned on trying them out last week-end, but ended up tearing some ligaments in my ankle, so there goes that idea  Going to try and make it out before the end of the month even if I have to hop on one leg. :D I did get the neighbors dog howling at me when I was playing around with my howler last night, but he sounds nothing like a yote.

Damn you!.... you talked me into it... now this one is on the way.... ordered my 3rd call before my first and second have even arrived....lol

You're going to be way ahead with that howler than a closed reed one. Soo easy to blow and make great sounds with. I was hesitant after not being able to get a good, deep alpha howl out of a primos hot dog after hours of trying. Picked up the carver howler and made a perfect one first try.

On another note guys... Was talking to kerry today... His mom in law is on her death bed which is why he hasn't been around... He is still shipping etc and will be back... But would be nice if you dropped by his site to give him best wishes by using "contact us"...

Hey guys, thanks for posting these pics and link to Kerry's site. Now I'm going to have to go and spend some money!!! I have the Primos Hot Dog and I don't find it that hard to use....it is fugly though. These are just so purty that they HAVE to sound better right?? Lol! I will report back on what I order and how many I call in with them.....
I missed a dog last Sunday and it is haunting me. Have to make the dreams go away!

OH man.... I got my one of a kind distress call and my little cocobolo coaxer and all I can say is WOW!.... you just don't get this stuff off the shelf at walmart..... and the "screechy rasp" of the distress is awesome!.... I can't wait until my box elder howler comes in!.... I gotta learn how to make a nice lanyard like these things deserve........ +1 for Kerry's trader rating!

Trust me, if you think the Hot Dogg is easy to use just wait till you get one of Kerry's howlers. I could get a good female howl out of the Hot Dogg, but a deeper howl was pretty much impossible, and I'm not new to calls.

I've been most impressed with my coaxer, the swift and my howler. That coaxer is pretty versatile eh? Good little squeaks, but you can also sound like a young rabbit and you can do a great bird distress. Try using it like a duck call for the bird distress, you know, stop the flow of air with your tongue for those short, sharp little chirps.

Will do... So far pretty good at the squeeks and love the big distress call.... Will try the bird distress... I have a distress woodpecker sound on my ecaller I can try to copy...

Mine arrived this morning, they look and sound great. Sorry now I didnot order a howler so going to be placing another order very soon. Once the boys I hunt with see these I think there will be a few more orders on the way.

LOL... the only problem with that is deciding who get sto do all the calling...lol...

Well winter has finally hit Alberta and I got to try my calls in super cold conditions for the first time. All the closed reed calls worked fine at -12 when I was out last, but at -34 (temp when I shut down my truck to walk to my first stand) the closed reed calls started to freeze. They didn't do any worse than any other closed reed call I've ever used, but they didn't get used past the first stand. Oh well, I'm more of an open reed kind of guy anyways. I called in dogs on 3 of my 6 stands today, however, only got one shot off.

Shot this little guy at 6 yards (yes 6, I could have jumped on him lol):
