Somehow, sticking a stock designed for an AR type rifle onto a full powered battle rifle doesn't sound right to me ...

It may not sound right, but it really does feel right.

I'm with Laz, my folder makes the gun much shorter than an M4 type stock; however, for my next one, I want a side folder that telescopes.
Yup, I want it all.

Congratulations Mr Snake,
the finished unit looks great.
This stock may just be enough to get me back into M-14 rifles again ... even though I swore a holy oath never to build another one.
But I'd make mine up with an 18 1/2" barrel.

Reality check ....
You say it balances well, but all the other similar aftermarket stocks I've handled felt VERY muzzle heavy and slow for CQB useage to me. Have you tried doing a few El Presidentes, with a timer, with both the original stock and this one? How would that work out for you?

Too bad Bull Pup stocks are illegal here in Canuckistan, as that setup looks like the best bet so far for the foundation of an M-14 Bull Pup. Even better than the old Macmillan/AWC. Just run some kind of remote trigger mechanism with that front VPG, a shroud over the existing trigger mechanism, a butt pad at the end instead of the AR slider, some high mounted BUIS or a scope way up front, and you'd be most of the way there.
NOT THAT I AM ADVOCATING ANYONE EVER DOING ANTHING ILLEGAL OR IMMORAL.
but the potential is there

It feels better balanced in the hands. not sure if its because of the pistol grip setup or what. But the rifle points better. Still a battle rifle dressed up so its not light. I have not compared the two. next weekend maybe. But as it stands being with having the fore grip and pistol grip I have more strength holding the rifle for a long period of time.

ive seen that m89sr isreali setup posted on here before. not the nicest looking bullpup rifle imo, but not that it matters....we wont be able to get that stock in Canada anyway.

looks good frozen snake!! how is the cheek weld? does the stock sit a little low for proper cheek weld?

Cheek weld is better on my traditional GI stock which is on my scout m14. Not much cheek weld on this stock . One can get a cheek piece that is made for the M4 stock which I can see helping alot. But for the most part with this setup the scope is still low enough giving you some cheek weld. Any higher rings and you will be off the stock giving no support. If I were to used a scout scope, I would get the cheek piece.
