True we do HAVE to bring in the blanks from the US as there are not many barrel manufacturers in Canada. This can be said for most industries. We had to purchase our lathes and mills from other ****ries as well as here is virtually nothing available in a finished form in Canada.
The ADVATAGE of what we are doing is that we can provide a finished barrel in lengths and configurations the US will not allow Canadaians to have exported from the US where the majority of AR parts are made.
Our lowers are 100% machined in Canada, but the aluminum plate they are machined out of also is made in the US as it seems Canada lacks the manufacturer of 7075T7 aluminum plate.
Unless you are comfortable with a barrels and gun parts made of wood, bovine byproduct, produce byproduct, petroleum byproduct, or recycled politicians, we are damn light in options for the basic materials.
We do intend to manufacture our own upper recievers n the not too distant future, but were able to obtain some Colt made uppers to offer to the Canadian gun culture in the mean time.
I am not sure if you have noticed but there is a REAL shortage of AR stuff in general since Uncle Bam took power down south. We are simly rying to help ease that shrtage and give Canadian AR lovers some of the things they can not import.
Hopefully that clarifys what we are doing and why.
