Cz 453 Lux set trigger worth extra cost over the 452 Lux?

How light can a 453 set trigger be lightened to?
My 455's, a Varmint and an American are pretty close to a pound using the YoDave trigger kit.
Some have reported less that a pound but I am not inclined to go there.
 
The difference in price is not great and definitely worth it. The thing is that the 453 Lux is not as common and the stock on the 453 is different and nicer than on the 452 Lux. When these models are truly no longer available new, the 453 will hold more value.

I've had them a few ounces under a pound. On RFC 453 owners report that it can safely go down to 12 ounces.
 
Worth it, "if" you can find one at a decent price... a 452 is better than twiddling your thumbs on your sofa.
 
If you asked about 453 American versus 452 American, I would say the set trigger is worth the extra $100 for sure. I am on the fence with the Lux unless its purpose is offhand open sights or peep sights shooting.

Peep sights. Much need! If anyone can point me in the right direction or give up some info on where to buy, which are better, what's compatible, it'd be greatly appreciated!

My 453 Lux trigger wasn't set up the greatest from the factory. I could hardly notice a difference in the "set" trigger vs "unset". A little tinkering and I now have one sweet, light trigger pull!

I'd say the set trigger is worth it, but a word of caution. I find I have to reach a little for the trigger in the 453, even in "unset" mode. It is physically further forward than the trigger on my 452 Varmint. Deal-breaker? Absolutely not, but some might find it a little less natural.
 
Yep I already have a nice souped up 452 varmint. I want a Lux for strictly iron sight shooting and I have had a new skinners peep sight for a cz 452 for a long time now. Only issue is the front sight post is probably not tall enough from factory.

Prairie plinker. I'd say a skinners peep sight. However u may need a new front sight post but it's a super low profile peep and solid steel throughout. Very nice piece indeed
 
I got my 453. The set trigger is crazy light. I haven't touched anything. I don't think I'll touch the adgustments. My Kidd two stage trigger is lighter of course and the 1727 I had was insane as well trigger wise.

The value of the CZ 453 Premium should be higher than a standard 453 because it should have nicer wood and engraving and is much less available. That said, the value is higher usually only for a more serious CZ fan or a collector, so the market is therefore smaller and selling at a higher price is more challenging. The .22LR is a more popular choice for shooters in general, which is explained by the cost of ammunition. As a result, a CZ 453 Premium in .17HMR, while possibly quite a beautiful rifle and possibly a great shooter, will typically take longer to sell than one in .22LR.

The value is further muddied by the fact that CZ has released the CZ 452 Grand Finale -- a "curtain call" for the 452 line that also sports nicer looks and all than the standard 452 line, although it doesn't have the single set trigger. If those rifles are available in Canada, a used Premium would have to compete with them for the CZ buyer's attention.

Having said all that, a CZ 452 Premium in 17HMR was offered for sale last summer at $1700 and did not sell. Last I remember it was offered for $1400 and presumably sold near that price. One other has been put up for sale more recently with an initial asking price also at $1700, later dropped to $1400.
 
A gun in hand is better than two or three on the gun store shelf.
If you like the fit and feel of the 453set trigger, buy it.
There is/was one in the last week in the EE and the guy doesn't like it for at least one reason.
The fit of the set trigger is causing him some grief.
Enough that he wants to sell it.
