Getting the rabbit rifle ready for this winter. Went through all the standard ammo I had, about 10 types in all.

In Summary, the CZ loves Federal Champion followed by Federal Game Shok, and one of my Bulk favorites, Winchester 333. All good enough for hunting.

The Federal Champion really had an amazing sense of control ,it was really dialed in.

The worst, was the Winchester T22 target round nose. It was also a poor feeder too.

The CCI Shorts had quite a bit of what I believe to be drop? at 25 yards

The range was 25 yards, but the big fans were running and that opened up my groups a bit because I had to use the cross brace for forward support. The fans make the scope shake.

nice

funny, on the win bulk pack hp's ... i got similar results with my varmint ... for cheapo's they did quite well ...which is not what i expected with hollow points

I'll have to try the fed stuff...

Are you sure the AE 38 gr didn't group as well as the others? My CZ452 loves it. I'm just wondering if that one high shot wasn't a shooter error or rare occurance.

You know that's interesting, half of my bulk stuff is AE and that flyer was the first shot of a barrel with storage oil on it. I'm going to return and focus on tightening the groups up with those top 4 brands , including the AE, it feels like it shoots well, but i couldn't see past that flyer, doh

Yes, it is nice to shoot indoors! But it's also 400.00 a year for that privilege. Totally worth it, but it is something to consider. In the summer nothing beats a nice outdoor spot

I have never seen SK ammo here in winnipeg, it's surprisingly hard to find the good stuff, so i've been resigned to major brands. found these brands at SFRC, cabelas,WSS, and cdn tire

There is one more you may want to try. I just picked up a bulk pack of winchester TARGET 22 in a black box at can tire. It was 23.99 per 500 so i thought what the heck. I'm very very happy with it. My 10/22's and new marlin 60 all love it. Better groups than my RWS rifle match. Might be worth looking into.

Your groups are quite good for lower priced ammo, I could not use your setup. One needs to rest your elbows on a bench for best results and use a sand bag at the rear. I'd try a better setup and some premium ammo to see what your gun can really do, I think that with that gun you would see one hole groups.

CZ 455 American!

Looking at one now. Love your targets. Do you have another barrel for it. Apparently they are inter changable 22LR,22Mag,17. Not sure how much though.
I was thinking Savage but those CZs are just so nice. Which scope?

Another vote for SK Standard Plus here. Eley red or black box should do very well too and they have a blunt profile by coincidence, that is more conducive to small game smack down effect. The downside is higher end Eley is about the most expensive 22 LR match ammo out there.

no risk of hijack at all, in fact thank you

that's a very interesting thread to me as a 455 owner

Seriously, I'm embarrassed about my groups, that situation has a lot to improve on. My set-up is wrong and the winter heater shakes the crossbrace I was using. I'm going to redo with a table and a sandbag

interesting replies thanks guys

455!

Interested. Just picked up a 455 Lux 22LR today with the extra barrel in 22mag. Hope it shoots as good as it looks. Keep up the good work. Too bad your range isn't 50 yds. Be more exciting.

Nice groups there.I have a 452 Silhouette model that shoots the federal champion hp's (blue box bulk 525's)into what I consider very decent groups, have literally consistently taken tacks off of the target (bench rested)at 100yds, no wind mind you, not every shot but a least every other round hitting the thumbtack out of a 10 round mag, the other rds tight around it.Never owned a .22 as accurate and reliable as this prior to.

Also just deadly for gophers with that load. Those Brno CZ .22's sure shoot, as you've ably demonstrated. Thanks for the test and write up!
