CZ 455 American Combos at Wolverine

Is there a Canadian source for a .17 HMR barrel and magazine and whatever else is required for the conversion for my 455 Standard?

YES.........but the name just slid my mind, but I know someone will pipe up with the info........illington imports??

might be faster with the shorter barrel........unless your burning powder all the way to the muzzle your just adding bullet friction, funny thin with rimfires is that they perform better with shorter barrels, but we are brainwashed into believing longer barrels are better......and for open sites that hold true due to the longer sight picture, not so much for velocity and accuracy

Varmint Al did a velocity/barrel lenght test,22" was 2517fps, a 17" barrel was 2505fps, and a 15" was 2477fps. Velocity dropped from there. 10" was 2276.

I just ordered a 455 American 22lr/17 hmr combo and should be here on Tuesday they come with 2 barrels with 1 mag each.
I will post picture when it comes in.

I'd be interested in seeing how they dealt with the difference in rim diameter and thickness between the two cartridges.

The common wisdom (which, often enough is based on belief more than facts) says that the two would not be compatible.

Flat faced bolt and a rim recess in the face of the chamber? That seems to be one possible. Or ???

Pretty interested in seeing a close up of the bolt face and chamber end of the barrels.

Cheers

The bolt and chamber face look like any other rim rife bolt/chamber face.

Got mine today! It came with the .22lR barrel mounted so I'll be trying it first, but most likely be keeping it as a .17HMR beaver tool. I cleaned out all the shipping grease and CLP'd everything. Installed the yodave trigger kit and +10 striker spring. And mounted up a 4-12 vortex viper on leupold rings.... Just need to go shoot it!

All I have is the 50m factory targets for now. Not all too inspiring at about an inch for both the .22LR and the .17HMR.

CZ targets are done for function only not for anything else. You won't be disappointed at at all after you shoot it.

Nice looking gun. Don't let those factory targets fool you. I have seen some really dismal ones and the user targets look extremely nice. There is still argument as to if they are just to test function of accuracy. There are some stellar test targets out there though. On rimfire central a few years ago there was a thread about test targets and most seemed to agree that on friday the person to shoot the worst bought lunch for everyone.

I was lucky enough to buy the last one in stock should have it by Friday. I'm also using my CZ 455 as a 17hmr gun only & I'm looking for a new CZ 452 in .22lr right now, once I off load my Savage 93r17 BRJ.

I bought one... 'Should arrive on Thurs.
Can't beat the Wolverine price... Coupled with the LE discount it's a very good deal.
'Been on the lookout for a decent .22 bolt gun.... 'Hopefully this is it.
The .17HMR kit is a bonus for me...

I hope your right! I figured as much since all the tests and reviews I can find say these guns shoot about a 1/2 out of the box. With a 12x scope and a 2lb trigger I should be in this range! I am going to sneak in a few shots today at work, I'll try to remember to snap some pics

Edit... just got email notification from canada post...
"Item available for pick up at post office"

Guess I'll be making a pit stop on my way home from the werkplatz today :)

Can only tell you what lilja says I don't think any one would not take heed to their advice.
Read attached at the bottom paragraph about win mag and 17 hmr as it applies to those. Hope this answers your comment as to why.

Ya I've read that before. Never done a "break in " on any gun I have. All shoot very good with the right ammo. If a gun doesn't shoot one kind of ammo good no matter what you do to break it in won't change it. Im in the boat that if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy doing that be my guest but from my experience it isn't needed.
