cz 455 best way to mount a scope

Another base is by EGW... several are in use on rimfire precision rifles and feedback has been very good. Very well made and clamp on nice and tight.

If I can help, please pm or email.

Thanks

Jerry

The CZ's with the "hogback" style stocks, such as the Lux, Standard, and Super Match models, are designed for iron sights and require a bit of adjustment to use a scope. The American (or Canadian version) and the Varmint have stock that is designed specifically for scope use.

Yes, I too have both; the Canadian Edition in 17 HMR I put an older Tasco varmint scope (I have not measured it) 6 X 24 x 44, with the paralax adjustment ring on the bell, it is over 50 mm; the one shown is not my rifle, it is a 452, but this shows you just how high it needs to be. Mine is actually lower; I can just barely get a credit card under the bell; and it is plenty high; I have to do a fair bit of squirming to get my eye in the right place. When I find something smaller that will do what I want it to do; the tasco will be coming off; peoples heads and faces come in different sizes too:

I have a CZ 455 Militairy Training Rifle that I shoot only with irons; best fitting rifle I have ever shouldered.

BTW, where did you get your peep sight; and are you using the stock front sight or a target globe sight?

Its a williams FP-CZ sight with target knobs which I got from Ochocos. Feels very similar to Garand sights (possibly m14 but I never shouldered one). I recently swapped out the 3/8in aperture for a 0.05in aperture and it works great.

It works just fine with the stock front post although the thickness of the front post tends to obscure smaller targets quite a bit. I suppose thinning the front post would be an option. I tried very hard to get a globe front sight, but there seems to be no cost effective option.

Honestly its only a bit better then the tangent sights, but the peep sight is easier to use and good if you are training for peep sight equipped centerfires.
