CZ 455 Quality?

There decent enough but out shooting an Annie is a real stretch. I have a pillar bedded 455 varmint in a Boyds stock with a DIP adjustable sear so the trigger pull is in the ounces. I also have a anschutz match 64. The CZ shoots real good but will never out shoot my Annie. The 41 year old anschutz is bone stock. The Annie can shoot groups into the teens. The cz .2,s

You have a real gem, consider yourself lucky. 0.1 consistently with a 64 action is great (actually 0.3 would be great enough).

Yes the gentleman that sold it to me said it shot as good as some 54 actions.
CZ'S are great just not Annie level but much better than the Savage. They are a better bang for the buck than a $500 savage. I still like my savage TR for 100-200 yd shooting, the Boyds PV stock and large bolt handle just feel better.

Well I have one and the stock is indeed maple. Maple has a very distinctive wood grain. I have seen dealers advertise both maple and beech. I've also seen brief reference of the maple wood being a further special / exclusive edition. Maybe there's both out there?

That description is full of typo's look at the dovetail size. 3/8" not true at all.

Yours won't have 3/8" dovetail

My 455s use 3/8 rings

Measure the top width of your dovetail and you will see that it isn't 3/8"

You may have rings that fit but,the dovetail is always 11mm on 455 receivers.
I have rings that will fit either 3/8" or 11mm made by Warne and some from Leopold. The configuration is determined by the side orientation of the clamps.

yup,

the 11 mm cz dovetail measures 11 mm at the top (the widest point of the dovetail). The 3/8 CZ dovetail (452 american and 452 varmint in 22wmr) measures 3/8 at the base and about 13 mm at the top so it is much wider than the 11 mm dovetail.

Had 11mm leupold rings had to return for 3/8. The 11mm were totally cockeyed when snugged up

Can't explain your ring dilemma but the 455 has always been 11mm dovetail.

Why not bring your gun to my shop.We will measure it and confirm the 11mm and you can buy lunch for Kody and myself at Rae and Jerry's .
I don't think Kody and myself are too far from you. That seems fair to me.

I was at the range today with my CZ455 Varmint thumb hole . Very nice rifle . Quality is super nice for something at this price point . Shot a 5 shot group at 50yds off the bipod using Federal Match that was .247 . 5 shot , 5 group average was .474 off the bipod using 5 different brands of ammo . Zero feeding issues and zero ejection issues . I would buy another CZ rifle again without hesitation . By comparison , the CZ action is bigger and thicker than an Anshutz Match 64 and super smooth .
