Minor draw back, CZ guns you have to mount your scopes a little high up because of the bolt throw. Other than that, the guy I know who has one loves his. Great quality guns.

I have one and love it, The only issue was the scope mounting. Put a VXL 6.5-20x56 LR on it, the CZ 30mm rings are way to high for this scope and do not come in any other height, got some warne maxima mediums, worked great. Pics are posted on the PR forum "pics of my new CZ" Havent had a chance to do load development but it shoots facory UMC 45gr HP under an inch. Supposed to be nice this weekend so should get some more trigger time with it.:D

PS, it's the only CZ 223 with 9" twist.

Apparently, and this is NOT first hand experience but anyways, the barrels aren't as heavy as 'normal' varmint contour barrels and subject to heating up a little quicker, tho obviously not as fast as a sporter. This may or may not be an issue for you. Tis indeed a nice looking rifle.

I can't be the only one on were with one of these? First trip to the real range today, comments: Bolt is smooth but a bit stiff, pretty normal for brand new rifle I think, Had a couple of rounds stick a bit just clearing the mag lips, might neeg a little polishing there? Overall pretty impressed but I am way out of the groove, just gitting back into things, Was also the fiance's first trip to the range ever so couldn't fully concentrate on my shooting. Very impressed with the VXL 6.5-20x56LR, no big surprize there, love the focus and the varmint reticle. If anyones interested I,ll keep you posted on experince with this rifle.

I have a 527 American 221 fireball - slick action, wicked set trigger (16 oz) - that kevlar probably will outshoot 95% of shooters right out of the box

I"ve bought 2 CZ"s (550"s)and loved them, but they had major bedding problems with their wooden stocks. My mate brought back a kevlar stock from Florida for his 222, and the difference in group size was amazing(changing from wood to kevlar). Another mate then traded his 222(wood stock) for the .223 kevlar, and it"s the mutts nuts! I will be buying one the first chance I get.

more info please

what make/model of stock worked these wonders?

I don"t know exactly, but I understood it is the same stock as comes on the kevlar version fron the factory.
My only complaint with cz"s is the poor bedding in the wood models, and because I like wood it means an accraglass job for any of them.

It's the only way to go IMHO.

The Kevlar stocked version has the faster twist. All the wood stocked models are slower. Also, the Kevlar has an aluminum bedding block.

If you like the "mini-mauser" design, they're neat little rifles.

new laminates have the 1:9 twist now, at least according to wholesales catalogue. going to grab one for a gopher gun was wondering how much difference in accuracy there is going to be vs a laminate
