So here's the replacement for the CZ lines they have been discontinuing. And I have to say it's a bit disappointing. Plastic magazines, A mat black finish instead of blued, the Alpha version has a cheap plastic stock that I've seen the grip falling off of in other videos. And has an aluminum receiver. Everything I loved about CZ rifles is non existent in this line. That being old world like style and finish, with good Metal magazines. Now they look like any other budget gun on the market. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'll be sticking to the Old CZ lines.

Hate to say it, but all the things that disappoint you are simply the future. Polymers have made technological leaps and bounds over the past 50 years, and are often stronger and more resilient than the metals and woods they replaced. Nitriding and anodizing are nearly impervious to corrosion (in this usage) and provide tremendous benefits over traditional, but highly dated bluing. As for “old world” fit and finish, we’ll that’s long dead. New world fit and finish means every part is strictly controlled and completely interchangeable across all comparable platforms. No more fitting of parts, they’re just right and always fit. They may look like every other budget gun, but they have many times the features, all of which seem to be quite well thought out. We shall see if they are as well executed as the appear to be.

Compared to the similarly priced Tikka, these rifles blow them out of the water in every way I can fathom. Again, hopefully the execution is as slick as the marketing.

I don't view these as improvements. Every other brand is going this route and I purchased cz rifles specifically because they didn't follow this trend. Of cheaply made polymor mags and new age finishes that aren't blued steel.

I can understand why they would go this route but I won't be buying them. I don't need a threaded barrel, I don't need it to be swappable. I don't need fancy new age finishes outside of blued steel. And I certainly don't want a rifle with polymer magazines.

I realize I like old school rifles and their styling more then new age rifles. But that was the niche CZ occupied. These new rifles no longer occupy that niche. Instead they made a rifle that looks like any other hunting rifle, from any other brand.

Lux version still looks like the old school CZ rifles.. I'm still going to miss that bluing tho. I'm happy to have gotten a 557 Ranger recently, very nice rifle. Also waiting for a 527 now.. grab the old stock while it lasts, gents. The future is made of polymer ;)

Looking at the CZ600 specs, not sure that these 3x torx screws can hold the consistent accuracy like 6.5prc, 300 win mag...

Barrel: Quick remove and replace design with three Torx fasteners

I like that you can swap the rimfire line, but I never thought I'd want that same design in a hunting rifle of a larger caliber. My biggest concern is it looks like this is a complete switch where they won't be doing anything for older models. Does this now mean that they aren't producing parts, for warranty work on older rifles? Like their are no Cz magazines around for their center fires. I've been waiting almost 12 months for a single extractor from their warranty center. I may just have to drop the CZ line if getting parts for their 527, 550, and 557 line up are impossible because they decided to standardize on their new 600 platform and abandon the old lines.

I like the looks of the Lux model, I wonder what is different on it compared to the current Lux rifle?

Nitrided finish, an adjustable 4 stage trigger ( So 4 different settings). Barrels that can swap out and are held on by three screws. A new push/control feed system with a new plunger ejector (Plunger thing seems to work rather well actually) Tang safety that will allow the bolt to move freely when on safe i think. And new plastic magazines that can be locked in place for top loading the rifle. And new fish scale looking laser checkering, that I actually think looks really nice. And a walnut bolt knob.

But non of these things are why I own my current CZ rifles. I own them because they were old world style guns, with blued steel, good iron sites, and metal magazines. Like I understand there is 100% a market for these new CZ rifles, but I can't say I'm the market.
