I'll second that. Mines even a .223 model and its been flawless for 400 rounds now.
well its a czech military surplus rifle so... That makes it a military assault rifle in my opinion, but whatever, maybe I'm ignorant.
The last shipment of "858" came in with the happy place selector, some say they weren't 858s...

The definition of assault rifle is, a rifle that is selective fire and uses a intermediate cartridge. The CZ 858 uses intermediate cartridge but is not selective fire. The definition of a battle rifle, which is often mixed up with assault rifle, is a rifle that may or may not be selective fire and uses a full sized rifle cartridge. The CZ 858 isn't selective fire, but doesn't use a full size rifle cartridge and therefore is not battle rifle. The CZ 858 is simply put, A military surplus rifle, Milsurp, Red Rifle, or just a rifle.
We were told the 858 rifles that came in were deemed prohibited and were sent back. That is all.

The 858 doesnt even hold a candle to the type 81 not in a million years. Ps I owned an 858 and put 500rds through it

^HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, apparently someones been smokin up with ol Turdo. The 858 is a million times better than the type 81 (and even the type 84). I have put almost 2000 rounds through mine, never had an issue.
Anyway back to drooling over that ###y piece of machinery, god I want one I only hope they come in under $2000 though.
