CZ 858 Accessories, Thinking about manufacturing them here, Any interest?

As far as the bipod thing, Would a bracket that mounts onto the lug with a threaded hole for a swivel style bipod work?

Sure but why not just make something that slides on to the bayo "rail"? It's quick and convenient.

To keep costs down you could make it with a manual pin to keep it in place instead of the spring loaded mechanism found in the actual bayo....

Couldn't you just copy the regular style bayonet completely? If I was to buy a bayonet, I'd want it to be just like the standard issue bipod.

Plus it would make swapping it on and off super easy and cool.

Yes it would swap on and off the same as the factory bayonet. Looks like I had better take my measuring tools home tonight! What do you guys think, just make it so a standard bi-pod will mount to the adapter of make Bi pod and all?

Im really just looking to get my 858 as similar to a service rifle as possible. Which is why I hope the brakes you end up making are similar to the marstar ones, since those ones are used in service.

Im assuming the bipods they make for the 58 that attach to the bayonet slide are also used in service, so I would again request something like that!

I think there would be more units sold for you if you did it that way, anyways! Just make sure to keep the costs down! :D

Also John, would you happen to know how to make a scope mount that wouldn't permanently modify the gun?
I know of one guy who made one from scratch last year...it looked pretty sharp and used screws that were already in place on the rifle...I couldn't find a pic though...I went through the ENTIRE VZ-58 thread. :(

Removable cope mount

How about a REALLY stable no-gunsmithing scope mount replacing the carrier cover, with pressure latches on each side?
One that holds and returns to zero when removed?
That receiver looks like it has close tolerances machining; maybe it could be feasible.
BTW, a scope-adapted buttstock would be in order with that mount, I guess...
PP.:)

adapters add needless mass.

I say just make the whole bipod

I tend to agree in this case. The vz-58 bipod is fairly simple. However I'm not terribly opposed to a sling swivel adaptor such as would work with a harris bipod so long as it was low profile.

For 26$ I could modify it to slide on off of the VZ and not have to screw around making bi pods!. Here is the pic of the first prototype muzzle break. I know it is not the same as the standard VZ one but the holes are just details now that I have all the dimensions etc. This one is not oxided yet and is made from 4340 annealed. Let me know what you think. I will make one the same as wolverine sell toninght.
