Cz 858 Owners

Pardon my ignorance but is the cz858 prohibited now. I spoke to the cfo in june and he said all was good for the time being.Like I said please forgive my ignorance.

Registration Certificate.... You still get them with restricted rifles/handguns eh...And I'm assuming he also means prior long gun registry as well, the RCMP folks he shoots with never checked them either.

In a nutshell.....There is an amnesty on the prohibition, but the firearm has to be handled as if it was a restricted firearm essentially. It is no longer a NR rifle until C42 passes.

Sadly all the e-mails amount to less than 2% of the owners, so I am not sure how much of an effect it will have. I was expecting a better responce. I will be meeting with CZ in a weeks time. We really have to wait and see what our Government will do first.

HHMMM!!! I thought they are all prohibited. And have to be treated as such?? And the amnesty is just a period of time where no enforcement of the reclassification will happen?? If you don't have a prohib license then you can't own a prohib firearm??

Where the heck are all these owners?
Are they all in jail already?

I thought we'd have way more fellows writing.
It would be good if retailers across the country who sold these could put up some signs or notices in their stores.
Maybe word would get around better?

There will not be a different owner for every rifle imported. Everyone I know personally with an 858 owns more than 1. Plus not every 858 owner is a CGN member or frequents your sub forum. Can't really expect 7000-8000 emails, but yes I'd like to see much more than 2% too. There's gotta be a more efficient way to get the word out there to the affected individuals.

Just because they sent an e-mail, doesn't mean they automatically come back here and report they did so. Lots of people send the message out and don't make fuss about it.
