Sir,
You have no clue about the whole story. One day Mr Wolverine may decide to tell it, but today is not that day.
I am sure he has done more for the firearms community than most ever will and this situation has hurt him more than it ever will you.

Keep telling yourself that. Do you think John will give you a free gun?

Do you realize the retail profit margins for guns is razor thin?

It's not much better for importers or distributors - so developments like this really hurt importers. That said, there is no point trying to fight the government through avenues only the government controls.

It is better instead to realize the government is a cancerous parasite on society, and businesses and entrepreneurs willing to take chances to stay in this market are the good guys.

Before you "fight" anything, you must fight your own personal bias and unlearn the propaganda that the government is good and that it cares about you. It doesn't.

The best way to fight is to let the free market destroy the Impediments the government tries to put in your way in manipulating it.

It looks like the game is over now. No importer in their right mind would attempt fresh imports of CZ 858 or CSA type rifles at this stage. This is only the beginning.

Now that's just typically Canadian. Lay back and take it up the arse Wolverine. Don't you have a good lawyer on retainer? Why wouldn't you fight this seizure instead of just rolling over? God knows you have plenty of our money from past CZ858 sales...

Get back to us when your lawyer has reigned in the RCMP and has said organization doing as you command.

Let us know how that goes in case the funnies section forgets to print it.

John,

If you can only file an appeal with a rifle in the country why not import just one and see if it happens again. That way you can challenge them and you don't have a lot of money into it.

He can not challenge them without risking getting everything else worth having prohibited. In my view it's a risk worth taking, because if they get away with this they will just move on to the next evil looking rifle, and on and on till we are left with nothing but Fudd guns.

Sometimes it takes balls to do the right thing.

No worries boys, we have Conservative majority government.

Exactly! Harper and the CPC won't stand for this! Only the Libtards and the Turdos will put up with THIS attack on gun rights!!

Right??

*crickets*

And until you make it VERY CLEAR that you would rather write in "Chuck Norris", or "Morris the freaking Cat" before voting for Harper again, unless he starts to come through for gun owners of Canada, it will only get worse as he seeks to re-new his majority by appeasing the centrists and armchair munitions experts.

You see, he KNOWS he has YOUR vote.

Doesn't he?

From what I read he wanted to appeal but can't because of a technicality. Not sure how this would affect other rifles unless the RCMP turn vindictive and target him.

I get that, but this is just the beginning, it is in his interest ( and everyone else ) to bring a court action when they prohibit all the 858's in Canada.

Be in no doubt that they will all be affected, that's the point of the whole exercise.

At the end of the day Harper is a politician and he wants to get re elected. He will do whatever is necessary to survive the next election.

Keep in mind as far as Harper is concerned we are nothing more than a tool to continue in government. We need to make sure that getting our support is not free of charge. The PCs of Harper must put out if they expect us to continue supporting them.

I am still working through access to information but it is extremely frustrating, to say the least. Remember that CZ now have all the guns back in their possession including the three sample guns that the RCMP examined, I have the serial numbers of these three guns, just waiting for photos showing how some one? butchered them internally in an attempt to make them "rock and role".

Those sneaky f**ks, blocking importation is an effective and much cheaper way to ban the guns.
Now they can wait to isolate the registered ones first at anytime they choose, and go after the Non Restricted ones after the Conservatives loose the next round.
Watch out everyone, the worst is yet to come.

If we're talking about doing everything that is necessary to survive the next election, strategically for the Conservatives it likely won't require appeasing us gun owners. We have no other choice that stands a reasonable chance at forming government. The Liberals, and NDP would be a giant leap in the wrong direction. If we all decided to vote Chuck Norris or Morris the Cat as someone suggested, that takes votes away from the best (only?) choice we have.

This should be considered the line in the sand for all Canadian gun owners. The dialogue here shouldn't be what gun they're going to ban next... it should be, "what can and should be done"? This is a big deal, and should not be tolerated by any of us.

It is a big deal, it always is a big deal when guns are confiscated. The difference this time is that it affects more gun owners than have been affected in the past.

Nothing's "confiscated" yet. But still.. just the fact that this involves one of the most popular rifles here in Canada. It's a bad omen. The only real solution is to repeal or rewrite bill c-68. It's kind of a long shot, but I think we really should come up with a way to do that before the next election. If a Liberal party gets in with that bill still intact... all this is done. lol.

Gotta bombard the CPC.... Their convention is upcoming, and reclassification of firearms is already on the agenda. Send a letter (not email) and a 68 cent cheque!!!

The RCMP can only declare something prohibited if...
A) It is full auto or easily made FA
B) It is a converted auto
C) It is a variant of a named prohib

C is out as they have already declared, in writing and with the FRT that the vz58 and variants are NOT variants of a named prohib.

So either A or B was determined during examination. The shipment was either full auto, or converted autos.

Given the results of the last two imports, I don't blame Wolverine for not risking another shipment. Too much out of their control at too much cost for the risk.

The classification of the vz58s in general has not changed. The import of two batches was blocked.

As has been suggested, no need to dig up the garden as it sits right now... Yet.
