CZ 858 with AK47 scope mount

Armed has a honda civic! .. no wonder he has as many guns as he has! Is it an old beater like the one I had back in the 80's? Come on Armed, inquiring minds want to know dude!!
Yes, this redneck owns a Civic, 1993 two door five speed. Bought it when gas prices went over $1 as I couldn't see the logic in driving my 4x4 Dodge pick up to work when I could be driving a little 4 banger for 1/4 of the price.

And no, I never did mount a gunrack on it. I still might but would be pretty pointless when I'm in the city next year. So far the passenger seat works just fine.

well Dave .. I agree. You just need to make sure you are smart about picking both. There are used guns and cars that NO ONE in their right mind should own .. depreciation aside. It's a matter of research and living long enough on the planet to know good from bad .. guns and cars included.

:D
Funny, nobody extended the analogy to women...
PP.:p

ya .. i want a diesel motorcycle! The US military is gonna have about 400 this year (diesel powered KLR 650). Too pricey to own at this point. That would solve my transportation problem. Had a civic too .. friken sweet ride! I beat the sh*t out of that thing and it kept on ticking! Gave it to the nephew and he beat it too!

I want one of those electronically controlled shotgun holders located on the roof of the squad cars here in town .. hit the button, and you have instant access to your riot gun .. sweet!!!

As for the analogy being used for women .. one can't spend enough time on this planet to figure out the good from the bad regarding them .. that is an entire other forum i think .. :D

I took a look at the description of the mount on Marstars site, apparently you have to take the rail off to strip the rifle, which makes me wonder about it holding zero or not.

I'm glad I have the SVD system, it holds perfect zero and I have the option to use the iron sights at the flick of the lever.

I should think removing the rail is no different than removing the mount on the SVD setup.

FWIW, I've seen pics in the USA where guys cut or machine the rail shorter so the HG comes off without removing the mount rail - depends how long your optic is, I guess. Something short like an Aimpoint shouldn't be a problem methinks.

From what I can remember from looking at the pic of the scout mount set up it looks like the rear sight has to be removed to install the mount with the rail.

Removing the mount with the SVD system takes but a second, and the standard sights are then instantly available. Just my opinion, but the Dragunov system is the only system I have seen that acts and looks as if purpose made for the job, everything else available just looks like an after thought.

I want to put a POSP on my CZ858, have read through, & seeing that Flobalob will mount the side mounts would like to send him my lower. Problem is it apears that he has been banned??????

Here's my version. PKAS scope...my rail was much easier to instal. My gunsmith champhered the end and grinded a little off the top and bottom. Drill and tap and there you go. So far no problems and it returns to zero. Yes it looks high...in actuality it's not. It works great and the scope is very easy to use. Black dot and circle reticle are easy to aquire. Red dot I don't use that much. Total set up with gunsmithing cost me just over $300.
