Because it does it must make weight for SSP ie 39oz. before it can be shot in either of the other two divisions. The gun weighs more than 39oz and I know of no way it can be made to make weight unfortunately.
I am sorry but for now the 97B cannot be shot in IDPA.

The gun weighs 1150 grams or 40.57 ounces which is to heavy for SSP, a division it must make before it it allowed to play. I am sorry but you are wrong. As it now stands the 97B cannot be shot in IDPA an any division. The gun must be weighed with an empty mag installed.

Weigh your gun with an empty mag in it. Life is simple, why make it harder?
You will find the gun weighs more than 39oz. Get the weight down below that and you are good to go.
Mine came stock at below 39oz but you are saying that I am wrong? You stated the gun is not allowed for IDPA even when it is shown it 'does/can' make weight...
Dont get me wrong now, I'm fine with IDPA turning away shooters and telling them to go the IPSC route... it just seems suspect that:
IDPA's first two principals maintain the sport is about testing a shooters ability with self-defense equipment, and given that the cz97 is not designed as a competition pistol and that it has been shown to be under the weight limit therefore it appears to comply with the rules, yet IDPA Canada will turn away a shooter who wants to compete with the gun because your 'personal' gun may or may not make weight (you never did state how you determined the gun is over the weight limit)?
Edit: Bob knows about the pictures and thread on czforms months ago as if you follow the link you can see he replied to the thread there as well.
If YOUR gun wighs 39oz of less with a mag inserted you are good to go.
I also asked you what year your gun was made on that forum. I still would like to know. It would be good information for others to know as well as it may be from a different run and we can look for that run when buying a 97B. Mine was made in 2007.

It appears that IDPA canada does not want to honor their own rule of weighing the gun at the matches...
