This week's sneak peek pays homage to a legend. The first CZ-branded pistol to be made in the USA, the CZ 1911 A1 closely resembles the original service pistol, but with a few tasteful changes. Notable differences are the taller, dovetailed sights front and rear, walnut grips and stainless steel barrel.

Though it looks like an old A1, the biggest differences are the tighter slide-to-frame and slide-to-barrel tolerances, which translate into greater accuracy without compromising reliability.

I'm stoked.

Hmm, interesting. Probably cost upwards of $1500 though.

Hmm...

Hmm, if they stick close to that MSRP that's actually not too bad. 7+1 capacity is kind of not impressive though.

Whats with the sh1t combat sights. I figured CZ would fore sure have some Decent sights on it. I would still like to see it up close and get a feel for it. I hope it shoots and functions like my Shadow. Then I might be interested.

I like my CZ75 and might have looked at this but I actually took the 1911 plunge with STI yesterday.

Although, I have heard rumours that some people actually own more than one 1911......;)

If it lists at 839 US what are the guesses for Canada?..... 995?

If it shoots like a Shadow in single action...I'd be in....

Becouse it a a1 I imagine they'll make a target model eventually what I dont like is the arched mainspring housing.

At last the sights are dovetailed in, so even if CZ doesn't offer one with better sights we can put some on ourselves.

I'll get excited when they announce the CZ Shadow 1911... Tricked out for IPSC Classic Division - in Major (.40) and Minor (9mm)....

That's what CZ has their Dan Wesson division for. ;)

I don't get the excitement over this gun. There is no shortage of plain-jane, mass-produced, budget-priced 1911A1 style guns out there.... And CZ already makes some of the finest production 1911s in their Dan Wesson division. What makes this gun even worth noticing? Not trying to start anything; I just don't see what there is to get excited about.

Quoted for truth

Alloy frame...not for me. That is why I have a Shadow...steel. Otherwise I would turn to a plastic gun. Even my SAM is all steel. I expect they will appeal to some folks though.

What a waste....start with a replica model that lacks all the modern features that greatly improve the 1911 platform???
Expected way more when Dan Wessons are right there in front of them.
