I have handled Huglo's before and can't say I was very impressed. What makes these one's different? What's the price?
Don't know if the Bobwhite was among those that you handled......to me at least, the Bobwhites are simply plain hunting tools albeit with the sought after conventional Upland features that many of us are unable to commonly acquire in a sxs (well, at least in Canada) without spending, let's say $3K+ in the process
The Bobwhite, coupled with nice fit/finish, good balance, well regulated bbls + sub $1K price point make it an attractive proposition although I was quite skeptical when I first purchased a 12 and 20 couple of years ago.
Various models of the Huglus offered by CZ received criticism Stateside from a QC perspective and deservedly so. Having said that, the Bobwhites seem to have done well so far. Lemons, if you will, tend to surface and the same would be true even when it comes to Berettas or Brownings, for example.
What makes those Huglu's different? Afraid I can't comment since I have never used any other Turkish brand firearm previously to draw any constructive comparision......the Bobwhites I have been using have served me very well so far. The jury is still out on long term performance..........
As an after thought, Sharptail and Straightshooter offered detailed insights on this model (using 20 and 28ga examples) some months ago.......very constructive and honest impressions, IMHO.
