That shorty gas system would be perfect to cycle subsonic 300 Blackout.Pretty easy to swap back and forth. I did it a few times already. Love it.

Does the short gas system and long pressure dwell cause problems with an 18" non-res barrel?

That's fine. I'm probably too old to read the room.I don't believe that was the intent of the responses
No, I think you successfully turned my comment around on me, now I feel like one of those lame “law abiding” gun owners. Rock on man. Better days ahead. That's fine. I'm probably too old to read the room.
All good. Nothing "lame" about being a law abiding gun owner, just lame having to keep up on the law/reg changes like you're a friggin legal secretary cramming for a case. No, I think you successfully turned my comment around on me, now I feel like one of those lame “law abiding” gun owners. Interesting. Some food for thought thanks for the vid link. The time limit of 30 days to report is just that. Ian Runkle made a video about this.
He suggested you must report within 30 days, even if you return it to NR. So, you put a pistol grip on your Serbu 6" 870 to see how it looks, and then put the Spec ops folder back on to make it NR again. He is saying you still must report it within 30 days, and I imagine you would need it re verified back to NR.
Either way, yes discretion is the better part of valour.

Edit: found it.

Big shout out for posting that video - as it pertains to rifles/barrel length. I had been wondering about going R to NR and taking it to the bush. I could not see the Crown taking that court because it's an NR at that point, despite what the registration system might say. But Runkle makes a good point that it's probably going to cost you a lawyer if you get "caught" doing it. Cheaper to just buy another receiver...The time limit of 30 days to report is just that. This is correct, I had forgotten about this wrinkle, and all apologies.NO.
Since this is my thread I feel free to chime in here and say that that IN THE CONTEXT of some posts here this video is BOTH correct and incorrect.
Everyone needs to understand there are laws for rifles and there are laws for pistols. In the context of a rifle then yes, you have the 30 days as Mr. Runkle says in the video. But when you also reference the 870 Serbu this DOES NOT APPLY and everyone needs to be fully cognizant of this before running afoul of Johnny Law.
If you put a pistol grip on a pump action shotgun (Shorty) then it magically (POOF !!) becomes a pistol under our insane laws and can NEVER return to N/R shotgun status. And as the saying here in Communist Controlled Kanada goes - "Once a pistol, always a pistol". So if you put a pistol grip on any one of our shotguns and it falls below the minimum 660mm tip-to-tip threshold to remain N/R then it will spontaneously burst into pistol mode and will remain in this mode forever regardless of your begging and pleading common sense to the Lib-Tard controlled stools in Otter-WAAAAAH.
Before anyone posts legalese here please ensure that it is factually correct so others that are less aware of the detailed minutiae of our laws don't get caught up doing something that will cost them in either legal fees or loss of property.
Hello Dlask Arms are your gas pistons, piston heads, gas regulators & springs ready ?...
