CZ Bren 2 MS NON-Restricted MAJOR UPDATE Post 587

It's hard to argue with that price. A 16" restricted is going for $3500, so essentially you are getting the NR barrel swapped in for "free". And if they can get these done in the next couple months, that would be a big bonus too given the ambiguity around when CZ may actually produce the NR versions.

Is there gonna be a confirmation after I made my choice? I went with 2 by sending email
Also curious if we lose warranty after re-barreled

Good morning Marstar! I know you guys are probably swamped with emails and calls about this whole thing and probably don't have a whole lot of information just yet. I've come up with some questions I know a number of us have and am hoping you'll post the answers publicly once you have them!

I've asked this one already, but more details about the barrels (how they've been rifled, if they will be chrome lined, nitrided or just "bare" chrome moly, what kind of finish will be applied, the barrel profile etc).

I'm also curious as to what gas system the model you are sending to be re-barreled will use. I'm assuming it will be the longer version but hoping you guys can confirm.

For those of us who have placed a deposit - will that deposit continue to be refundable if we opt for the re-barrel option? If not, at what point does it become non-refundable? Once we switch our order over? Once the re-barreling is completed?

As a side note, I didn't receive the email you sent out regarding this update. I know 2 others who have pre-ordered and also received nothing. Not sure if it's just our luck but I figured I'd give you guys a heads up that you may have a lot of customers who aren't aware of what's being offered now.

Thanks again for all of your support!

Hey all,

MBK, You're correct, we're pretty busy with emails on this specific issue.

John is pointman on the barrels and is out of the office today, We'll provide more details and provide more specific barrel questions tomorrow, when he's back in the office. Sorry.

The rebarreled version will have the longer rifle length gas system.

If you opt for the rebarreled version, your deposit is still treated as fully refundable. It becomes non refundable after you make your balance payment on the rifle.

We only sent out half the emails yesterday, we wanted to ensure we were able to maintain effective general communication. Additionally, we'll be modifying the email for the second half (newer orders) of the list with additional info to reduce the amount of back and forth.

A few other general questions we're getting;
The total cost is $3450 + Shipping and Tax. If you have a total deposit paid for $450, then your balance owing is $3000 +shipping and taxes. It would be pretty dirty to try to hide the true cost of the rifle behind a deposit.
The original restricted length barrel is included.
We're doing this because many customers made a deposit with us and trusted us, specifically us, with getting this rifle for them. The option for a full value refund is always on the table sure, but its not appropriate to sit on our hands and wait around for CZ. Beyond money, clients have also invested time into this now simply by not buying other firearms that came up on the market. You deserve a best effort attempt at offering a reasonably priced alternative to the original CZ offering. We wouldn't be doing this if we felt it wasn't an ethical imperative.
The timeline of Mid-May is a good faith estimate that we make based on responses we've received from the various moving pieces of this project. We've added in a couple weeks (IE Original timeline was beginning May) as a small insurance policy. Its not set in stone but we're reasonably confident in the timeline.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all of that - there’s a bunch of us that really appreciate not being kept in the dark. Responses like this are why I spend my money with you guys. Your dedication to the community is unmatched and I won’t forget it in the future. I look forward to any further updates!

I would like to know what happens to the warranty when the rifle is rebarreled??? I am also very interested in the Marstar deal, but I don't have a pre-order with them. Will that price be open to anyone else besides pre-order customers? If so, I will cancel my other one.

this is my question aswell, any info about that?

I doubt CZ will have anything to do with warranty after the conversion. Maybe Marstar will offer something like 1 year. Going in knowing it’s a custom barrel, I wouldn’t expect anything from Cz and maybe a short term guarantee from Marstar.

Marstar has been great with their pricing, communications, and rolling with the delays and offering logical options to pre-order holders. I'm pretty happy and chose the rebarreled option for now.

I called Dlask yesterday and they haven't worked out any details on barrels yet. .223 Wylde 1 in 8" twist is a possibility in 4140 or 4150 can't remember which one but they
will not be chrome lined or nitrided. I asked about nitride and was told it's expensive but it's all about volume so that we can make a profit. Nitrided barrel life comes very close to chrome lined and is more accurate. "Nitrided in .223 Wylde, how about it Marstar"

Also interested in a nitrided barrel

If the difference with the cost of having it in nitrite isn't insanely higher, I'm sure most people wouldn't mind spending a bit more for it. Me included.

Should be a 1:7 Twist like the factory barrel. Here's to hoping.

Agreed.

I would like to know what profile it will be. I would hate to end up with a front heavy rifle. From memory the previous DLASK barrels were a heavy profile which I dont want on a run & gun type rig.

I`m in for nitriding too (assuming the barrel profile / weight is good)
