CZ Bren2 Owner: Info, Pics, Mods

Picked mine up today, going to shoot it tomorrow! Just an FYI, RDSC informed me they won’t be getting anymore in. The fella I spoke to said they are all being shipped to Ukraine and whatever they have a left in stock will be all they will have going forward. If you’re on the fence about getting one I would suggest moving quickly!

You made me order one, thanks. :p

Now there are only 5 left.

^ I was told there is a Bren 3 somewhere on the drawing board.

I'm really rooting for CZ, hopefully they would resolve the issues mentioned in the video (and not mentioned issues as well - like the way handguard is attached). However, it looks like CZ is following the trend of "disposable firearm". It is still high quality firearm and it still works great with light sporting use, and it's not like it total disaster in battle conditions, however WW1 trench and urban warfare conditions in Ukraine showed that older metal receivers and stock designs such as AR and AK fare better (they also have their flaws and cons, of course, especially AK). I hope eventually designs like HK416, ZMT MWS and NARP will prevail over this trend of "disposable firearm". I would rather own something from the mentioned list or XCR rather than Bren 2, but it's not like I have a lot of choice.

Hi,

I just received my Bren 2 11" recently. I noticed the lower "moves" a tiny amount while the upper seems solid and stable.

Is this normal?

I actually went ahead and compared it with my evil ar15, the play is about the same. Blame it on the front and only take down pin. If you remove lower, insert the pin back in its place and try to push i back and forth - it has the play that you feel when lower is inserted.

The accuracy with ball ammo on mine shooting with a Leupold and a full bench rest setup shot 5.5 moa. I shot a half inch group with my Tikka 223. I get it isnt a match rifle but I was able to shoot 2.5 inch with my acr and sun moa with match ammo.

Since I am not using mine for steel matches or to fight Russians, I am considering selling as it was to be a gopher rifle. Hopefully match ammo shoots better.

Oof that's bad. Is it a Marstar, RDSC, or factory model?

I’m pretty happy with the accuracy of mine. I put 6 shots in a two inch group from 100 yards with old Chinese 556. I have a Vortex spitfire 3X. This rifle used by someone with more capable hands could easily stack them even tighter. Mine came from RDSC with the match barrel though.

Im pretty curious as well, mine is a 11" conversion from Marstar with the HB 13" handguard and its been a champ in both reliability and accuracy.

Not very happy with the accuracy. Prone with rear squeeze bag. Slight 6 o'clock breeze. I'm going to clean it, check the screws, and try again tomorrow.

I fired these groups over an hour. Between each group I walked to the target and let the barrel and gas block cool down.

First 5 round group was Winchester Open Tip 62gr. 4" group
Second was Federal PowerShok 64gr. One went off the paper on the right. 9"+
Third was Barnes JHP BT 69gr. I shot two 5 round groups. There were two shots off the left side. 8"+ group.
