Lots of people reporting shooting surplus through their Bren 2 in 7.62x39 on r/bren2 and various YouTube videos I've watched.

Maybe something out of spec with the rebarrelling?

Not sure. But the supplier basically told him to go buy some real ammo for it.

Ah... surplus isn't "real"?

Someone should tell the Russians and the Chinese.

I can understand a high end precision rifle only wanting higher end ammo and expecting that owners should feed it fancy, but a line infantry rifle should be able to eat anything that's thrown at it, and if you re-barrel your rifle and suddenly it can't... well... *shrugs*

Not to be a jerk about it, but if someone re-barrelled my rifle and it stopped shooting a type of ammunition it always could before, and they told me to buy "real ammo" - I'd say, "Sure, can you give me a real barrel to go with it?"
