Very nice! Similar to mine, but nicer looking wirh the smaller optic.

How's your sight picture without a riser on the stock?

The optic has a built in 1 inch riser so it works fine for me. I think if I had a stock cheek rest like on your rifle I might want an additional rail riser.
The only drawback to the vortex prism sight is that has fairly short eye relief(~2 inches) so that limits is positioning to pretty much the end of the rail, but whatever. Huge upside to the sight is the HD clear optics and the weight of only 8 ounces. I am very weight sensitive these days plus I appreciate a good optic with my aging eyes. I am tired of lugging around heavy 223/556 black guns that end up feeling like 308 DMRs, so I am very minimalist. No flashlights, lasers, heavy fake cans or 50x optics for me. I got to tell you my favorite setup is the Bren 2 with 11 inch barrel, G36 stock, vortex prism, no back up sights, at just under 7 pounds It has an absolute sublime point ability/feel. I would wear that gun with no complaints all day long if I had to.

Funny you say that - I originally had the G36 stock on my 11" Bren2 and really liked it as well, but it worked better with the optic I have on the NR one in my photo.

Mine (a 9" 7.62X39mm model) just arrived today....here's how it looks right out of the box. The first things I'll be doing is swapping the magwell and mounting an Aimpoint Micro...not sure if I'll do anything more than that to start.

Did yours come with the magwell insert? Retailers I've spoken to said only 10% of current stock of 9" and 11" has the adapter included, which is a bit of a gamble.

I might be a bit late to the chase here but what are guys doing to take some weight off the non-restricted length brens??

I love my Bren (NR 556) and am planning to compete with it shortly. Literally my only gripe is its weight. Like done up the same as any of my ARs it still weighs almost 30% more than any of them

Imo it’s already a pretty light rifle

Time to hit the weights my friend

Does your Bren have medium countour barrel or the short gas system pencil barrel conversion RDSC used? The latter is described as being very light.

I’m not certain, I’ll have to check it out and see. Mine was converted by Dlask before RDSC was doing them.

It is the barrel that’s the problem though, very front heavy so I’m wondering if that’s it

Anyone have rough idea of weight # based on a NR 556 with LPVO? Is it front heavy, balanced or rear heavy? I imagine this being front heavy due full length piston and standard barrel?

Nice, who did you have nitride your barrel? Or is this one of the few that I heard about Dlask doing in house to test feasibility?

Can anyone tell me if the Bren 2 ms 7.62 is chrome lined? Anyone shoot cheap surplus? Looking at picking one up and hopefully cheap out on ammo for practice purposes.

I recall it is not to improve accuracy

I recall it is not to improve accuracy but I also do recall people do shoot surplus ammo through it... don't quote me though as I have sold my 762 long ago....

I don't think it was in house. Otherwise I am not sure who did it, as Leigh arranged it. Sorry as I know this info is not helpful.
