CZ Bren2 Owner: Info, Pics, Mods

Sorry if my post was confusing. I had a RDSC Bren and it shot terrible. It wasn’t a comment on your abilities.

Apology accepted. I also have been having some personal #### happen in my life so may have taken it as more of a personal attack than it was meant. I still do need to work on my rifle shooting though to learn the full potential of the weapon.

Fixed it.

I just did the math.

It took 0.000028 seconds for gas to travel 6 inches. so as long as it takes less than 0.00006 seconds for the piston to build up enough pressure and initiate the movement but not completed within 0.00006 seconds it will be fine.

The concern that a 6" more barrel ahead of gas block in a push rod gun may not be that big of a deal. It means the extracting cycle needs to be delayed by 0.000028 seconds

Now, in a AR the piston is located in the BGC, the gas is going back to the BGC at 3000 fps. The spring loaded push rod is not going at 3000 fps

The 10.8" HBI handguard looks good, but I'm going to run it stock for a while. I have heard that the latest OEM gas regulator with the three holes (vs. two in the original model) is fine with most ammo types, so don't need to replace that with the HBI regulator or recoil spring (I don't think so, anyway).

The Lingle lower is tempting for the AK mag compatibility, but I don't feel the need for it, even if I had a chance in hell of finding one.

I bought two CPD DuraMag SS 7.62x39mm 10 round magazines, and I am assured by G4C that it comes with the AR15 magazine insert so I can use them.

I have a MS4 Magpul sling lined up and the QD mount to match, haven't decided what fore grip to use - think I'll wait to see how I feel about the handguard length before I do. I'm liking the BCM KAG grip that I have on my PCC, but may go Magpul AFG-2

I'll sight in the irons, then put on my Primary Arms SLx MD-25 with ACSS reticle. Eventually I want to put an Apex Edge 1-10x24 LPVO or a similar LPVO on it.

I've heard the OEM trigger is pretty decent, so I'll probably leave that for now as well.

Gave her a quick little rattle can job tonight. I’ll post a better picture once I have some better lighting

Hot pocket concept looks interesting. Will have to check it out. I assume the neoprene or whatever it's made of is very heat-resistant. I'll have to do some reading on it.

I've posted my initial impressions review of the Bren 2 Ms chambered in 7.62x39mm - if you want to come see how things are faring on the other side of the Iron Curtain, head here:

Any planned mods?

After using it for only a single session, I definitely want to change out the safety for the HBI version...or anything else other than the OEM safety. It's really cheap-feeling.

Pretty sure it’s lined with silicon fibreglass so you’d have to get it really hot to melt it

Hello guys,

New Bren 2 owner here I bought a 8" configuration in 5.56, I am really happy with my purchase and been lovely to shoot. However, since it's in restricted and in the future I would like to convert to NR, I was wondering is it possible with a 8" to be converted to NR? I saw that Dlask offers this kind of service (currently out of stock) and I am curious if it is a good thing. I am also considering the drop-in barrel that Dlask are making, I was thinking of buying a 16.5" barrel, will keep it restricted but giving me the capacity of swapping between 8" for Close Quarter fun and 16.5" if I want to shoot further. But I am not sure if any of these are possible, there isn't much information online and I don't know a lot about gunsmithing to understand these kind of things.

Nevertheless, I enjoy shooting my Bren 2 in 8" so far, the fireball and loud bang is so fun. It also have been amazingly reliable so far and easy to clean.
