CZ Bren2 Owner: Info, Pics, Mods

So I finally got to test her out (back in april before i sold it...) Borrowed buddies pst gen 2 1-6. Was pretty rushed as I had 40 minutes to shoot before 30 minutes after sunset came a knocking.

After sighting in with barnaul I switched to hornady steel match... and out of the 2 groups I shot... in prone off my tripod with my nuts frozen to the ground... this was the best group.

5 shot group, 1 flyer. The group of 4 comes out to 1.23 MOA and with the flyer it's at 2.4 MOA.

Pretty pleased. I'm willing to bet I could squeeze 1 MOA out of it with the hornady if I take my time and have my shooting mat with me for some added comfort and insulation a long with proper winter clothing.

Did your 13.8” HBI handguard arrive? Would love to see some pictures of it installed on your Bren :)

Also, I wonder if Dlask faux suppressor will fit with the 13.8” handguard.

Won't be in until the middle/end of December. I'm really looking forward to it... it'll look a lot nicer.

As for the faux suppressor... why have the added weight up front for something that does nothing? I'll have a laser/illuminator and light up front on mine which I'm already worried about weight wise. Went with an 18350 light to keep it as light as possible.

Some will try to tell you that only a Non-Restricted Bren 2 is worth owning because it is supposedly somehow immune to government over-reach. The fact of the matter however is that if the Liberals ban the Bren 2, then that will impact all variants - both NR and Restricted. If you think that you can safely traipse through the woods with an illegal rifle and not a care in the world, you really need to think again. Get caught with it and it is game over. You had best dwell on the dark side of the Moon if you are going to bet your freedom on not running into anyone knowledgeable while in illegal possession....

lol ok buddy

we live in the largest country on Earth, with a population less than that of California. There's people still getting caught with Prohibs they've had, and been shooting and enjoying out in the woods since the ban (Both the '95 and 2020 ban), and I guarantee you a lot more who don't get caught. What you said is just a big cope. Theres a lot of places in the woods and wilderness you can shoot without a care in the world. LMAO

Yeah, and generally speaking, you need to use public roads to get to your remote locations safe from prying eyes and legal reach. Guess you've never heard of a routine check-stop in your rural neck of the woods....

Received the medium grip in the mail today. For anyone that hates the stock small grip this medium grip fixes the issues for me. Highly recommended.

My HBI stuff should be enroute today. Will post pics once I get everything in and installed.

Anyone know where I can get a hera industry direct fit folding buttstock?

Or, can someone educate me, does any buffer tube screw right in to the factory stock?

For those who have been inside the Bren - can you confirm if it takes AR triggers?

Pretty sure the answer is "No" as I have seen a different aftermarket lower that can be purchased with the selling point that it allows the Bren to accept AR triggers. I also seem to remember reading that the Bren trigger is pretty good anyways.

The "Pistol" versions of the Bren 2 which were imported ffrom CZ USA by IRG came with a separate Aluminum Buffer Tube Adapter to turn the "Pistol" into a "RIfle". In the USA, this would require a Form 1 approval from the BATF to install a Buttstock onto a "pistol". In Canada you can do whatever you like to your new rifle and there are no such rules governing the use of a Buttstock. So you are free to add the Buffer Tube to the Adapter and install it on your CZ Bren 2. I cannot say if the Bren 2s imported by other Distributors come with the same Adapter Plate, so someone with a Bren 2 purchased elsewhere other than IRG will have to chime in with confirmation of that.

The Bren 2 does not accept AR Triggers. That said, I can confirm that what you have read regarding the quality of the basic CZ Bren 2 Trigger is true - it is exceptional for a military service rifle. There is no need to upgrade the Trigger in a CZ Bren 2 unless you have money to burn and are looking for subtle ways to show off those deep pockets..... LOL! Seriously though - the Bren 2 Trigger is darned good and I see no need to upgrade further.
