Does it sometimes throw brass in your face (which is what I meant by inconsistent ejection)?I've put over 5000 rounds through my CZ75b in the last year, since purchase new, and not had a single FTE.

They are alright for the money, but as I recently found out, you get what you pay for. The fit and finish is inferior to West European guns and they often have reliability issues out of the box (most commonly inconsistent ejection). In other words, don't fool yourself thinking you get an HK/Sig for half the price.

Mine would throw empty brass all over the place - sometimes back at me, and sometimes even in the forward direction. Not yet. Although I have bounced a few off a wall into my body
I bought an SP-01 based on all the positive reviews I've read on this board. I was disappointed with the unit that I received. Not only was it throwing brass all over the place, but the dustcover was machined noticeably thinner on one side. I certainly would not qualify that as the "finest fit and finish".Capp, I agree that some of the older CZ's may have had QC issues, but I must disagree with you on this one.
I have owned various USP's (still have em - have never sold a handgun) as well as a Sig 226R, Glock 17 etc etc. Without doubt my SP-01 Shadow is the finest amongst all of them, and this includes fit and finish. I honestly believe that the value and performance that you get out of a CZ 85 Combat or SP-01 can't be beaten when you're looking at similarly priced 9mm's.
