CZ Scorpion Evo Thread - Pictures, Videos, Reviews, Range Reports, Accessories, etc.

CTSC has some stuff but most of my stuff comes from the unmentionable company that does US imports and starts with the letter “A”...

Mee Too, Azzzzzzzzz....

For Mags, IRG used to have a bunch already in Canada but all (pinned) 30 rounders are gone. You will have to order them from the US and wait a bit more.

CZ now has two versions:

I could not resist giving the "Damaged box" from Wolverine a home. Since joining the clan I've added the following:

HBI Charging Handle
HBI Mag Release
Parker Mountain QD swivel attachments
Holosun 403c red dot
Surefire M300 Scout light
Magpul RVG
AK47 Safety (right side)
Apex Low-profile safety (left side)
Apex custom grip
Talon grips for the Apex grip
Beretta Warrior 1/2x28 muzzle brake

Picked up a NR scorpion at Wild West this morning. I was very surprised to see they had NR in stock. Mounted a little Holosun red dot on it. It should be a fun little rig.

Damn that thing would rock if mags were not limited to 5 rounds. For 50 rounds, you need 10 mags. That's 300$+ in mags and waiting time from IRG or 600$ from northernrepublic!!

I swear the mag limit is a conspiracy of magazine manufacturers to sell more magz.

Speaking of magazines, I just managed to score 6 x 10/35 Palmetto State Armoury AK-V Pistol magazines before the last 50 in Canada were sold out at my LGS. These fit and function 100% in the Skorpion EVO PCC, making it a 10-shot carbine instead of a 5-round pain in the arse to fèed! Tòo bad the US export restriction on mags over 32 rounds will prevent any more of these coming into Canada. The price was acceptable at $41 for a polymer mag body with moulded-in steel feed lips and 10-round capacity. The steel lips are actually moulded onto the magazine body, unlike the Manticore version where the steel lips are prone to spread and then separate from the magazine.

Anyone know the warranty policy on original CZ mags as far as cracked feed lips?
Nice score Bartok! Seems there may be a small market opportunity for Palmetto to do a small redesign for export.

The Vortex Viper I have co-witnesses with the factory iron sights perfectly. My irons are dead on @ 20 yards, so I am going to zero the reddot 100 yards.
The camera makes the dot (6MOA) look bigger than it is.

Wow nice kit Mark!

What trigger are you running?

If I hadn’t had the HBI spring kit and mini AK safety selector on hand when I first tried the Scorpion I would’ve sent it back. I can’t believe these are made by the same company as the Shadow 2, or that they still leave the factory with that atrocious trigger and protruding safety lever after all this time.

However, once those two painful items are dealt with this is a great little carbine. Soft shooting, seems pretty accurate (just steel so far) and great ergos make for an excellent plinker out to 200. Once I figure out how to sling it and mount a Vortex Crossfire it’ll make an excellent ATV/truck gun.

Took her out for a run today, pretty fun carbine. Tried 200 assorted rounds of Blazer 124 brass and 115 aluminum, and 124 Speer Lawman with 100% reliability. The Vortex Crossfire is a nice mate for the Scorpion, even if I’m at that point where I reeeealy want some magnification at 100+ yards.

The Speer 124gr was the most accurate, and did ok at 100 with me mostly guessing at where the center dot on the paper was. Not a whole lot of drop from the 50 yard zero either, which now makes this very viable for gophers too. :)

I just bought a sig romeo 5 for my scorpion evo, do any of you have issues with sights loosing zero due to the polymer top rail?
