I would go somewhere and hold each of them and see what fits better in your hand.
Thanks for your post and I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 226 Legion. While at the gunstore I also saw a P229 M11A1 so I picked that up too. Now just waiting for the transfer. After owning an SP01 I can say that CZ's just aren't my thing, so I purchased a couple Legions.
The 226 and 229 are both wonderful shooters. The new sig xray sights are awesome, the Bruce Gray trigger on them is glorious, and that PVD finish is just gorgeous. The Sig P22x series is wonderful already, and the Legion configuration is just icing on the cake.
I posted a range report/review of my 229 if that helps make up your mind
Thanks but as per my op I did hold both but have not fired either.
The Shadow 2 IS all steel. When you pick it up, you definitely know that, as it weighs 48oz. There is no thinking that there is aluminium or plastic in that gun. Again, with the heavy weight, the gun was made strictly for IPSC, not IDPA, or to carry concealed. If you do not shoot IPSC, you would not want the Shadow 2 over the Legion. It is sort of like buying a race car to drive to work.I would choose the Sig over the Shadow personally because it's all metal

WOW! When I held and shot it, it felt like polymer, especially the weight of it convinced me...
However, now that I look up the specs the 226 Legion is 2.1Lbs and the Shadow is 2.9Lbs...this baffles me even more because my Sig feels heavy to hold. The Shadow felt like a polymer firearm...
My brain is baffled right now...maybe CZ did a better job distributing the weight? I need to hold both together now lol.
I have shot a Shadow 2 and I enjoyed it a lot. It has a nice DA and SA pull. I however DISLIKE greatly that it needs a manual decocking to put it into DA. I also disliked the slide release distance from my thumb, it was just too far away and the safety also got in the way of me engaging it. I would consider buying one someday because it did shoot really well when I tried it.
However, I OWN a Sig 226 Legion and I love the handgun, it has a good but not great DA pull, but the SA pull and reset really makes up for it. I love the sights, but I still need practice shooting with their combat feature to get better groupings.
I would choose the Sig over the Shadow personally because it's all metal, has a decocker and the controls are slim but easy to get to with my dominant hand.
When you get your Legion in, make sure you clean and lube it before shooting and I also suggest engaging the slide stop/release over and over to kinda break it in because it's a bit stiff at first I found.
I hope you enjoy it!

I think that you were holding the wrong gun. My guess would be a Phantom as they look similar, but it is made of polymer and weighs only 27oz.WOW! When I held and shot it, it felt like polymer, especially the weight of it convinced me...

No...it was a Shadow 2...they had it at a shooting event when it came out. It honestly felt light to me. My Sig feels heavier from memory honestly.
I just got an M11A1 to go with my P226 and P239. Very nice but quite expensive new. I got a smoking deal on a used one though.
The P226 Legion is next. With the slightly changed trigger guard can it still use regular P226 holsters?
