I usually shoot .22 pistol. I have a Walther SSP target gun. Not a lot of take up and not much pressure required to make it go bang.
I just tried 4 different 9mm pistols (a S&W, a Berta, a Kimber and a CZ 85) and the trigger pull was so long and hard I had to look to see if the safety was on....pull, pull, pull, pull......no bang. Pull, pull, pull like he'll finally goes bang. Explained by each owner that these are not target but more duty type firearms with lots of take up and 6-8 pounds of pull. Ok, I get it. And I liked shooting the 9mm and 45 otherwise.

But I would prefer a target type 9mm. So is the Shadow a target gun? How would it compare to a Shadow 2 as far as trigger? I see a few Shadows on the EE right now, looks like guys are upgrading to the 2.

I'm looking for opinions on a decent 9mm with a target type trigger. Thanks
Even better would be to try one out....

My Shadow has a fairly light even trigger pull very close to the deluxe version with a competition trigger.. very accurate and I would say one of the lightest and easiest to shoot with..It's like cheating some say :)

Buy a Shadow, replace the stock 18lb mainspring with a 13lb spring.

If it's still not light enough, cut one coil from that spring, and re-test.

Maybe one coil more. Maybe.

Easy to do.

If you are looking for, or prefer a Single Action only, check out the CZ Tactical Sport. It is S/A only. Really nice trigger. About 3.5 lbs stock.
And.... as you said it will be competition only, if you want an even lighter trigger, Dlask sell aftermarket springs, and you can replace the stock poly plastic trigger with aluminum, and new set screws.
The result is a 2 lb trigger, very light take up, easy break, and No over travel. And one of the shortest, resets you can imagine with a nice "feeling" click when it resets. After 100 or rounds or so, you may have to adjust your set screws as things break in and smooth out.
PM me if interested in more info,

Regards,

Any recommendations for brands? There's tons of 1911's out there. Thanks

If you're shooting a Walther SSP none of the "conventional" 9mm's will have a trigger that is even close to what you have right now.

You should be looking at a Pardini GT-9, SIG X6 or SIG P210. Yes I know all of these are are pricey.

As mentioned above you can also look at a 1911 in 9mm; STI Spartan V for example.
