The gun was purchased in March 09 from CRAFM. (great bunch of guys)
The Phantom is a great gun right out of the box.
The decocker is a nice feature especially if you are used to shooting a revolver (no pesky safety)
The double action trigger on this gun is quite heavy but that should be expected on a gun that is geared towards being a duty sidearm.
On that note the polymer feature makes the Phantom comfortable for all day holster carry.
The recoil is not as bad as one might expect from a polymer gun.
On the first range day a friend of mine that owns three different Glocks was very surprised at how accurate the Phantom is. He was also surprised when he lost a bowling pin challenge at 30 yards.
On my second trip to the range a police firearms instructor gave it a try.
The results from 15 yards rapid fire 9 rounds in a 1" group. The one stray round was about .5" away. Also narrow side of 2X4 at 20 yards with a single shot.
His comment was that it shot better than his Sig.
The one down side (other than always needing more ammo
) is ejected rounds have a habit of coming back at you. I have spoken with someone that fixed the same problem by changing the recoil spring.
The people that may not like the heavy first shot can always #### the hammer for the first shot and relax for the rest.
This is one gun that I will never sell!
If you like polymer get a SP 01 Phantom.
