CZ SP01 Shadow

New ones huh? What of the old beast?

I still love your ex-, it's just that, well, i think she's been used so much that she's a little loose, if you know what I mean. So, I'll keep her around in case the younger models starting getting all "high-maintenance" on me, but I'm going to give their tight young slides a go for a bit.

Hi Jerff

I have a Blade Tec with their mag holders that I can use both for IDPA (My SP-01 is legal right now and the Shadow will be), and for IPSC. The holster is Kydex as are the mag holders.

I did go out and buy a CR Speed Holster from Sean at Freedom Venture along with four mag holders. This rig is IPSC only. The rig is expensive but does allow a slightly faster draw (I need all the advantages I can get to keep up with the young pups!)

If you are just getting into IPSC the Blade Tec rig is much less expensive (Approx. $100cdn) and also works in IDPA. Aside from looking cool, I doubt my inept IPSC performances to date will improve much...but hey I will look cool.:D

I am in both sports for the fun of shooting. I have a set of knees and a back that tell me daily the Rob Leatham has nothing to worry about when I am on the line.

Could someone list all the differences between the Spo1 & the Shadow? I.e. what exactly are the differences in the frame?
Thanks

Here are my two pistols. Top is the SP-01, bottom is the Shadow. If you look closely the undercut for your fingers where the trigger guard meets the frame is deeper on the Shadow as is the cut on the backstrap where the junction of your thumb and forefinger fit onto the frame. The SP-01 frame was made in 2006 while the frame on the Shadow was made in 2008. I suspect different production runs. If anyone has a SP-01 marked later than 2006 it would be interesting to see if the frame s on the two guns are the same, now. From what I understand from following the CZ Forum the SP-01 frames are all marked 2006.
