I just purchased this CZ455 varmint (20.5" heavy barrel) last week. I got out to the range today and tried her out. I was shooting Hornady 17gr ballistic tip ammo. The scope is a Bushnell Elite 4-16x40 with the Multi-X reticle. Rings are Sun Optics Sporter's. Thanks to Jack at P&D for the kick-a$$ install. And thanks to P&D for having the rifle in the first place. I had been looking for one of these for quite some time.
Here's a pic of the rifle.
Here's the results after sighting in at 50m. My very first five shot groups (4 groups to a page).
And a second page at 50m.
And then the move to 100m. The wind did start to pick up at this point. So, some of the flyers were me, and some the wind. Still I am pleased, being the first time shooting this rifle.
And a second page.
The weather was quite warm today with the temperature in the valley at CHAS tickling +20c.
If anyone is considering one of these rifles, you should jump right in (if you can find one). I had a lot of fun and I love the results. I can shoot better, and I look forward to trying the heavier 20gr pills.
