No, but the new ones have some kind of additional plastic plastic wedge in the stock behind the recoil lug, like a Tikka but plastic. Still has the same receiver bottom profile, might be to prevent stock cracking, not sure.

I've had my carbine for years now, at the time, they were sold with CZ rings included; perhaps this is why you see the price dropped a little. This is my sons' rifle and they really like to shoot it, they also have a CZ Scout.

I was thing about 223 too. The 7.62x39 has been exceptional.
