It's a CZ550 in 375 H&H in a Boyd's laminate stock with a VX3 1.5-5X mounted. I put a slip on limb saver on the lengthen LOP and soften recoil. 20rnds of Federal blue box 300gr down range today. On the bench in a less than ideal position it stings, but not brutal. Good bench position, or a decent offhand position it feels like a hot 30-06. Off the bench it put 3rnds in 1/2"@100M. Not taking too much from 1 group, but definitely does the job for me. I'm at least the 2nd owner, thanks to Prophet River for making this mine. I've been shooting a Savage 116 FCSS 30-06 (accoutrigger) several hundred rnds a year lately. The CZ trigger and Boyd's stock are far better than Savage's offering. Yes, the CZ is heavy, but easier to shoot offhand with a hasty arm sling. I will get the barrel shortened to 19-20" at some point for ease of logistics. I've got a lot of Soeer 270s to reload, and some 250GMX for hunting.

Sounds like you have a good dependable rifle, the CZs are well put together and ideal in 375 H&H.
I regret selling mine, it was a well balanced rifle.
Looking forward to range report and a pic or two.

I am hoping to get scope on mine and sighted in after vacay, great rifle. Heavy but well manageable, mine has the bavarian stock.

The more I shoot my H&H, the more I love it....... It's quickly becoming my favorite gun to shoot....... I still haven't even scoped mine because I am having a ton of fun playing with the safari sights.....

I may even be guilty of trying to do a simulated DG charge or two for the hell of it out of romance........ Lol....

Thats a Ruger RSM your shooting correct?

Some pics of your CZ would be great, always wanted one of these.

I would be curious to hear your comments on how the weight feels for offhand shooting.

what point of aim are you getting with the flip-up sights? ( safari)

From what I understand, and feel free to correct me, the purpose of safari and express sights is to have same POI, but a broader sight picture at short range versus a more select one at "longer" ranges......

I can tell you that, at 100 yards, I can usually put my shot in a 6-7" group with the safari.... Similar to what I can do with a mild open sight rifle....... Of lesser kick of course......

With the express, not so much...... Maybe 5 of ten hit 8 inches at 100......

.375s are nothing but expensive trouble waiting to happen. It starts out innocent enough, first you find that shooting one is more fun than most, then next thing you know a few safaris seem to be a perfectly logical thing to do. In extreme and especially severe cases some people will start speaking with a British accent or have a few Afrikaans words or phrases creep in. Another strain of the disease will drag you north and west for Grizzlies. That can be treated by standing outside with a pack while running a garden hose down your neck for a few days. It might even work.

The best is to just avoid the 375 altogether, or just get rid of it. Maybe it's not to late to save yourself.

Careful where a .375 H&H will lead you. Mine have taken me to a few different sides of the world, from sea level to 10,000' above it. The other irksome problem is you really don't need any other rifles anymore, aside from a light one.

What make is that rifle Ardent?

Cheers
Jay

We do need to get a shoot or hunt in Jay...... You could fire mine...... And over the years, I have seen that you have some stuff I wouldn't mind firing either :).....
