Hey there, just crious as to if anyone has their CZ858-2's yet and shot with them? How are they ? How would you rate them on a scale of 1-10. 1 begin the biggest waste of money, 10 being excellent (superior performance).

Let us hear your experiences with these new production Czech rifles !!

People known to have connections to Wolverine and their distributors slagged all over the VZ58S on this board when it was released calling it a POS made of used parts, etc. In a weeks time everyone wil know those same people will be selling essentially the same product and I'll be slappin' y'all with a big "I TOLD YOU SO!" :roll:

Just to be clear what I'm saying: Aside from the longer bbl, these guns will be THE EXACT SAME THING as the CZ Hermex guns already available.
 
What I ment was that the rifles are ( a new model) I don't care about the parts, we all know they will be refurbished as you say Claven2! Yes the VZ58's are made with issued and new parts
Anyway untill the releasal date, tell me your plans on what you intend to do to your rifle!

Oh and I have some news.. Leverarms is importing 5 Million rounds of Norinco 7.62x39mm from the factory in Bejing and it should be here next month or so.. that is if it doesn't make a stop in a US port. I was talking to them on Friday.
 
When mine comes in, I will let you know how it is Norcy. I don't expect it to beat my AR, but I expect it to kick the crap outta my SKS-D which I sold, plus its non-restricted.

I also just picked up a Norinco 1911 clone. I don't expect much from it stock, but I will be replacing certain parts with colt parts down the road. How is the Norinco 7.62 x 39 stuff? its steel cored right? I currently use the czech ####. Is the norinco stuff corrosive?
 
Non corrosive. I fired off several thou rounds of it back in the day whan Marstar and Districorp used to stock it. I miss that ammo. If I recall it used to be $149. for 1200 rounds of non-corrosive ammo packed in commercial cardboard boxes. They came stacked in a wooden ammo crate.

I ran that stuff through SKS's till the barrels were too hot to touch. What fun! Used to do rapid strings all the time at the Stittsville range on purpose to piss off all the 40 something gun snobs with $6000 banchrest rifles firing one shot like every 30 or 40 minutes between insulting everyone else about their "cheap kit". Great fun. Would never do that at my own club, but I hate Stitts and it's crowd in a very special way. Place has been going downhill ever since Clint died and his son in law took over... but that's another story... :oops:

Hmm, well I would say that the Norinco stuff we got hanging around BC is firstly lead core, silver boxed stuff. Prices are $4.00-$6.50 per box of 20rnds. It is for the most part non-corrosive, BUT I would be very careful around SKS's with it as I know of a few people who got rust spots in the gas ports after firing it. I think this corrosiveness might have something to do with the a powder preserver in the older 70's. I seem to recall a document floating around that talked about this..
Generally the Norinco ammo is superior to that of Czech of the same year of mfg. It is VERY hot firing ammunition and creates a sizeable pretty orange-yellow muzzle flash.

Silver box Norinco Ammo Marked NON-CORROSIVE on the box is just that. It is not 1970's production.

If you don't oil metal. Metal rusts, particularly metal exposed to high heat.

I have had rust on the flash supressor of my C7, does this show CF ammo is 'somewhat' corrosive.

My BBQ is rusty, it burn non-corrosive propane. The maniford on my car is rusty too.

This isn't a conspiracy.

For a guy into science you post a lot of 'I seem to recall', and 'I think I heard' and 'Someone told me' type statements to provide substance to your peculiar claims. Let's stick to the facts shall we?
 
Agreed. 100% non-corrosive. The brown cased Nork ammo is even marked NON CORROSIVE o nthe box. It's good stuff, though the powder does burn annoyingly dirty.

Now the 1960's and 70's copper washed Chicom MILSURP ammo that was floating around BEFORE the silver box was imported was corrosive as hell. I shot alot of that stuff too, but it was a battle you had to stay on top of to prevent rust. ;)

Norinco ammo does have more flash but not because its "hotter", it's because it's cheap and has no flame retardents in the powder formula. The .223 stuff especially throws big fireballs at night. It is great stuff for plinking and is only mildly corrosive, if at all.
 
Its funny, as soon as marstar gets a good deal on corrosive czech, suddenly there norinco ammo dries up, who would have ever thought? :roll:
