CZ858 wood furniture, where to buy?

Why wasnt the lower handguard cut to accept the roll pin that holds the lower in place??

Here is what they say on their website with regards to not cutting the cross slot:

Lower hand guard rear tabs may require very minor fitting. Cross slots are not cut for the mounting pin, and must be done by the customer. We do not cut the cross slot as this spec on your VZ58 may not be exactly the same as our de-milled test fit VZ58.

It's not like it's a real major job to cut the cross slot into the lower hand guard. All one would have to do is mount it onto their rifle and carefully with a drill create the cut using the holes in the receiver as guide.

i think i would put it in a clamp with the metal bit on there and clamp it against another block of wood and drill it that way..

Not to take away from the awesomeness but being that perfect I wouldn't be surprised if it was cut with some cnc equipment. Especially the handguard.

I absolutely agree but even with cnc there are plenty of manufacturers that end up leaving machining marks or other blemishes. The attention to detail is what really gets me. I honestly can't find anything to complain about and i've been starring at it for a couple of days now.

Tomorrow, first coat of tung oil ... can't wait, now time for a

Very nice and tempting. Question, do you think it is possible to somehow mount the NEA Cantilever mount on the back butt? Add a rail to the top or something for the mount to attach to? Also, can short rails be added to the lower forestock?

I presume but I wouldn't do that, I was like tactical with this VZ58 not long time ago and wanted to have a really nice wood furniture set up instead. Not tactical anymore. I had the NEA top & lower hand guard, I had a Burris Fast Fire II red dot, I had a folding stock, a Fab defense pistol grip and a Tango down Quick release vertical grip. Sometime when you change to many things on a rifle you loose the original beauty of it (Red Rifle). And wood will always be wood and NICE ...:rockOn::rockOn:

Oh, agreed. I toyed with the idea of all the addons. I love the wood, but I also like the NEA addons, guess I need to get a second Cz...

But I can't stand the optics so far out. I'm hoping NEA is going to make the railed dust cover. But I can't even get the cantilever mount, both NEA and Wolverine are out of stock.

Give Jeff Smith of Valley Gunsmith a call. I was in his shop the other day and saw one in his display case. You can check out his website:
