DAC 394 (Sig 228 Clone) Kit

Went off to the range tonight to test out the build. 200 Rounds and no failures at all. Shells eject nice and solid. Single and double action works. Did have to break in the magazines by leaving them loaded for a day or two. Accuracy for me was pretty good even though the sights are just utter crap. Thinking of getting some night sights. In the mean time, I went ghetto and used some white out to fill in the front sight hole.

3 flyers on a 10 shot string.

Careful with the dlask baseplates, i only load 7 in them. Did you have the brass in the face prob? Anyone else up & running?

Actually no, the brass on mine flies way back and to the left. I do hand load my stuff and they're not as hot as factory ones either.

Hey all,

Just wanted to mention that I picked up a set of Houge grips for my 394 and what a difference! I got the standard profile rubber (not wrap around) ones and the feel of the pistol is much improved. The seam at the back is tight and lines up perfectly and the grip profile is a tiny bit different (shorter lop to trigger).

I'm really impressed with the change it makes in feel... highly recommended! No more flimsy toy gun grips for me.

Off to the range to try out my new pins... Thanks Effects!

Extractor broke, was cyling some snap caps through it and the extractor claw just snapped off. It seems like the ejector is pushing out the shell but the rim of the shell is getting caught on the claw, taking a piece out. That or the ejector is just not hardened properly. Anyone know where I can order some Sig parts?

On some guns, the ejector begins to push on the rim of the case before the bullet has cleared the chamber - especially when cycling cases with bullets in them - causing unnecessary abuse of the extractor.

It is really a timing issue, and will sometimes cause even empties to fail to flip with a nice spin to the right.

Check the ejector - is it installed properly - not too far forward? If so, maybe shortening it, so the rim hits, and begins to eject a little later, will allow the case mouth or bullet to clear the chamber and port before beginning the flip.

PM me your address, and I can send you a new extractor that I have here - if you want it.

It helps ALOT when it comes to knowing where the parts go.
Or you can PM me, I think I'm pretty much an expert at putting together Sigs now.

Mine should be here tomorrow or Monday so I will be in contact with you and MP5K (friend of mine and the reason I wanted one) after I mess with it a bit. Rather than learn by my mistakes I rather learn from yours :p
