Took my dad's old Swedish Mauser to the range to get my daughter shooting for our upcoming moose hunt. This old rifle is a sporterized job, the likes of which I've never seen, it's beautiful! And it shoots!!!
Last time I used it was 5 years ago, three shots at the range touching to check the zero onthe old Sportchief and one shot to get my hest whitetail to date.
So today I fired the first shot and it was bang on. I get my daughter to take the next one an she says "I cant see where it went, I think I missed..." ha, looking thru the spotting scope I see that the second shot went into the first one, her next shot went a half inch fromthe first two.
Next we switched to thee other loads I had, all different bullets and the silly rifle put's them all in nice thight groups, all within a few inches of the first one.
So whatever load i feed it, is never more than an inch and a half from my goto load, unbelievable!
This rifle was picked out of a barrel by Jojo at LeBaron a long time ago, he was an armourer, and one of the best. He machined a barrel band to hide the bayonnet end as well as a metal cap to go over the tip of the full lenght stock another of my dad's friends made for him from a piece of Lebanese wood dad got a pilot friend to bring over.
Great rifle, I'm afraid to break it!!!
